It might be fall before someone goes up there again. I suspect most Arizonans have retreated to forks/pit/upper reaches of Mt. Lemmon/etc this time of year.

Also, for those that haven't visited, it's not like people are cruising up these spires on a daily basis.

So I predict the gear will be returned, but it may take awhile.

Todd, really hope you get your gear back, but it is obviously getting less and less likely everyday. I did the same thing many years ago (on a much smaller scale), but it makes me wonder if telling people about it may lead you to lose it as much as get it back. They may just go get it because they know it is there. I really hope people are not that way, but I know some are. Anyway good luck. Todd are there some pics of you in the Freemont book? I know saw some pictures of you somewhere that I was surprised to see and that is the only thing I could think of. Hope you and Tucker get your gear back.

Mike;...no pics of me in the freemont book. I think our chances are still good and here is the reason why;...it's hotter than fuk there right now;...in the summit register, no one had climbed the spire in 2 or 3 months;...it does not get climbed often in summer;...the approach is sort of long and hot, and the climb takes awhile;..it's not really a good idea to climb the spire in mid-summer;...only complete idiots would climb the thing this time of year....(that's us...)....We sort of like to suffer in the heat, we are used to it, and it's usually the only time I am free from work and family obligations to climb in Sedona;...so that is why we were there and I do believe the gear will get returned.....it's alot of gear, and we are sort of poor "everyman" simple plain folk;.....not rich sponsered yuppie pro athletes;........it's a big bad hit to loose this much gear;...and most climbers, especially REAL climbers who would be out on such sandstone adventures, can relate to knuckleheads like Tucker Tech and Todd Gordon;.....that's my belief anyways;.....let's hope I am correct.....(Mike...I did climb alot in the black hills in the early 80s;...I lived for one year in Chadron, Nebraska......)...here's my Black hills resume/scrapbook/spray sheet;..(...http://joshuatreeclimb.com/Scrapbook/blackhills.htm )

For those who don't know he's the protagonist turned antagonist lead character on AMC's "Breaking Bad", the best show to ever air on tv.
