A Slovak website on Facebook just published this photo. Have no clue where it is, Australia?

I'd venture a guess, but the link is broken.

I'm going with eastern Europe, but I bet Todd Gordon can give the definitive answer.

Ron Anderson: I didn't see any rock like that when I was climbing in Slovenia, most the place is limestone, such a tiny country :)

↑↑↑↑Why the duck?

Perhaps the makings of a new Aflac advertisement for a new type of policy for climbers.

No input on the location.

Try posting that shot on the Czech history thread...Kinda looks like a jump off the top proposition. Lots of rock in Slovenia...

Steve, thanks for the suggestion.
Having lived in Czech and Slovakia for the better part of four years, visiting all the major and minor climbing areas in each country, I would assert that this formation is knott in either country.

Mabe a Photoshop job?

Could even have nabbed a part of the Totempole from Tasmania?

Well tracked down everybody.

Sometime in 1974 I found that my car, which I had loaned to my brother and a friend of his the previous night, had a number of concrete garden ornaments in it. We had to get rid of them somewhere, so we decided to decorate the Organ Pipes, Mt Wellington, Tasmania. I think all of them have gone now except for the garden gnome which still reclines on the top of Albert's Tomb.

The rock is dolerite, the same as the Totem Pole (only about 80 km away).

No photoshop here, the images are are all straight scans of my original 35mm transparencies.

Hi Stefan. Welcome to Supertopo.

Nice story and pictures to go along with it.

It's hard to tell from the perspective, but how tall is Albert's Tomb, and are there climbs that go up the Tomb itself in addition to the leap across?

There are three routes to the top of Albert's Tomb apart from the jump. Read about them here:
