Susan, you win! Hope they let you finish yer mimosa!

Assuming you were on a 767 and that it was the APU battery it weighs 96 pounds and is not
exactly easy to access. Besides, I'm thinking Pep Boys wasn't open yet.

I made it...many Mimosas later. In fact I'm sitting it off in the Lihue airport before I head over to the rental car! Shouldn't take too long, the Mimosas on the plane are a close cousin to Shirley Temple! But hey, they're free!!!!! And heck it's only 11:45 here. Lots of time to ramp it up again once I get to Hanalei Bay.
The lights on the plane only flickered once enroute. There was a collective, but discreet gasp.

F*#k iTunes!

F*#k iPhone!

F*#k Apple!

Just F*#K IT!

If I were to set out to design something more counter-intuitive and difficult to use for photos, in a million years I couldn't do better than f*#king iTunes.

Jesus Christ!

Woah! Chaz snaps. Dude, grab the plastic and head to the Americana for some chill time. Watch that movie with the Raccoon, eat some fancy food then head over to the Apple Store where the geeks will help you sort out. Maybe and upgrade will help you feel better.

This is 2014. No reason to suffer.

Mr Savage,

My first "smart" phone crapped out in Santa Cruz a couple weeks ago, just as I needed it to help me navigate through the maze that is that city.

So I threw it in the ocean off Pigeon Point! One of the most satisfying moments in recent memory. Can you hear me NOW?

( I was eligible for a free "upgrade", so it wasn't like I needed it anymore )

The Eggheads at the Alderwood Mall in Mukilteo set me up with another one, and they took the time to show me how to use it to get e-mail - it's 2014 after all - and explained syncing photos.

Good enough. First batch of photos loaded fine. No slip or sh#t.

The second batch of photos I loaded erased the first batch! WTF?

I lost nothing, because Back-Up is my middle name. But DAMN the work-around required is one convoluted process.

And I was woken four times the first night I had the damn thing, because the phone rang every time Sierra Trading Post, Amazon, or whoever sent me e-mails, before I finally took it outside and put it in the truck.

If Steve Jobs wasn't dead, I'd have something to say about him, too.

That would be better posted under "Next World Problems."

I hear ya. I so totally hear ya.

And I'm not exactly a luddite, either.....but the level of time and effort it takes to figure out the less-than-intuitive structure & function of iTunes really swings the benefit:effort ratio the other direction.

What's the alternative, esp. when you've already got hundreds of CD's burned into iTune's closed world?

My hotmail-account was closed down by Microsoft some weeks ago. I had to get a code to open the account. The code was sent to another hotmail account I opened some years ago and have never used. I have forgotten the password to this second account. So here I am, unable to open either of them. That's a quite nice first world problem...

I opened a new carton of half & half for my Sunday morning coffee, and the damn thing won't open properly without delaminating.

Dammit!

A few programs that we look at as serious,
that less rich places can't afford to think of as problems:

Affordable health care for 80-100 year olds.
Most permanent disability claims.
Pensions for 50 year old public safety workers/military/leos.
ADD/ADHD whatever it's called now.
Athletic scholarships to college.
Cal grants for illegals.
Subsidized rural broadband.
Preemptive wars.
Bullet trains to nowhere.
Using valuable land to bury the dead.
LEED certified affordable public housing at $400000 per unit.
