Hey bvb,

I was flipping through the Reid Valley guide a while ago, so my memory may be off.

But, I remember seeing a few climbs named after you. The Van Bellodrome, and at least one other, I think.

Didn't see your name on the FA cred though. What's the story there?

How about giving us a few of your Valley FAs as well? Look at that, soliciting spray from bvb! Hose us down!

Cheers, to the American Legend.

Yeah, VanBelle Syndrome was probably the other one. BVB found & cleaned 'em, but I think Suzuki might have gotten the FA. C'mon Bob, tell us a story...

The best thing about BVB is his hot wife and beautiful children.

I also heard he could boulder a little too.

He a cool guy and one of the funniest climbers I been around. Plus...I have never seen anyone so drunk and still be in total control. The man a pro!!

Keep cranking old man.

That's a good one. So, for those who don't want to wade through the pages, it was Croft, not Suzuki who bagged 'em, and Leroy helped with the initial discovery.

Still, that's as good a down and dirty b.com thread as there is.

Love the ChickenHawk on the top step scopin out who's gonna play hide the weasel later.

Does this explain the fascination with suspenders? Self defense mechanism to keep the drawers up?

three vb's, actually. mom, dad, and moi. off white was in that same troop. we got kicked out of the boy scouts about a year later by that same fukking weasel scoutmaster...

mike, i ain't not never done the big stone proper, and probably never will...a host of ailments (chronic empyema, khylus reflux lymphaeodema) and injuries (like, say, my missing lung that i lost to a bad bouldering fall in '78) makes wall life potentially fatal for me...get an infection, get a coffin. just like that.

but me and johnny wason freed every pitch on the west face of el cap in '87, on-sight, swinging leads with the 2nd freeing every pitch, in 9 hours and change. does that get me any street cred...? i should know better than to even ask with this crowd...

You're slippin a cog there Bob, the guy in the back is Simmons, he was an alright "leave the kids alone" kind of guy. It was the next guy, Hoyt Jones, who developed a serious fear of us miscreants and orchestrated our departure. Heh, that was around the time "me and mrs. jones" was on the radio all the time, damn but he hated it when we sang that song. I heard a guy make a soulful rendition of that tune in a Karaoke bar last week.

Ah, I was right but wrong. I thought the kid next to you looked
similar--height, hair, glasses.
I congratulate anyone who gets kicked out of scouts.

I'm in love with BVB and I haven't even met him, and I'm English.
