My first choice would be that psychotic foaming at the mouth Joseph Goebbels protege, Ezra Levant

Hey Marlow - here's another addition to the Canadian Hall of Shame: this prick's name is Gordon Campbell, a former Premier of the Province of British Columbia who not only has the integrity of a sewer rat, but also an alarming physical resemblance to one.

This cheap hustler was elected to office after, among other things, vehemently insisting that he would not sell a Provincially owned railroad, and that he would refuse to impose a controversial Federal tax upon the citizens of B.C. Needless to say, these promises were lies. In addition, while still in office, he was over in Maui getting drunk with one of his rich buddies when he decided to drive back to his own accommodations in the middle of the night. Fortunately, the Maui cops got him before he managed to plow his car into a bunch of widows and orphans, or worse. His mug shot made the front page, along with his conviction for impaired driving. But there's more.

We segue to what passes for justice in British Columbia these days - he was actually awarded a MEDAL called "The Order of British Columbia", which once was bestowed exclusively upon non-criminals.

As if this is not enough to make anyone with a sense of decency gag, our crypto-Fascist Prime Minister (Stevie Harper)who claims to be outraged by criminal behaviour in any form... appointed Gordie to the office of High Commissioner to London, arguably the most prestigious position in the Canadian diplomatic world.

Bumping Neil Young, for what you mentioned, Bruce.

He'd make a much better Prime Minister than the slimy weasel Canada currently has!

I heard the Gian Gomeshi interview while drivin'. Loved when he said something to this effect :

I respect the workers ( in the oil sands ) but I can't respect something that is digging a hole out from which my grandchildren will never be able to crawl.

Yep. I appreciate that folks gotta put food on the table.

I used to hate it when a certain someone at Squamish, speaking in a Geordie accent, would say of the toxic stench of Woodfibre "Smells like money".

Yep, it does. It reeks of money. Does that make it right?

No. It wasn't sustainable. Now Woodfibre is gone.

According to the CBC, workers wages in the oil sands have gained five times what the rest of us have. Neil Young said the Ford dealership there sells more F-150s than anywhere else on the planet.

The oil drawn from the sands goes to China.

Is this sustainable?

No.

off topic I know

but speaking of politicians always so concerned about tomorrows children and grandchildren...

why are those unborn more important than the children of today?

who gets to decide this?

is there really a scale of misery that reads tomorrow is more important than right now?

don't today's children who live with their parents unemployment and in poverty deserve too?

I agree with Tami. And , given the huge CO2 emissions, direct & indirect, associated with those projects, not only is it not sustainable, it is almost suicidal for the health of the planet.

Edit: maybe we should move this over to the generally disgusting Climate Change Skeptics forum....

If you are amerikan and have a DUI you are turned around at the boarder.

I hope we show Beiber the same curtesy our brothers up north show us when we try to cross over with a DUI.

I suspect however we are collecting some major taxes on his dumb ass and hell get to stay.

They're going to get Beaber on "conspiracy".

At 19, he couldn't have bought his own booze, or rented his own car. He had to have worked with someone else.

He should be deported to Mexico. I doubt the Canadians want him any more than we do.
