Watch the Frontline episode, "Sick Around the World."

It is about government healthcare in all of the developed nations and the countries where it works well.

You will learn a lot, I promise you. It covers countries that do it poorly, and countries where it is done well.

Frontline isn't partisan. They ran a famous episode that skewered Clinton over the Whitewater stuff.

Documentary called "Sean"

About a kid who grew up in the Haight during the 60s with communist hippy parents. By 4 years old he was smoking grass and running around barefoot downtown. The filmmaker comes back 30 years after his original footage and explores Sean's life since his youth.

Also, recently saw "Shut up, Little Man", another documentary about an odd facet of SF.!!!

Blood into Wine the story of Maynard Keenan (Tool frontman) making wine in AZ (near the former mining ghost town of Jerome no less). Makes me want to move back to Arizona right now! Makes me want to become an eco-wine hippy right now! NOW!

"In a Lonely Place" with Humphrey Bogart. Extremely well crafted movie. I thought this was much better than Sunset Boulevard

Great stuff here guys!

I enjoyed the first season of Walking Dead.

Watched a couple of documentaries the other night.
The White Family - story about a famous dysfunctional West Virginia family.
Winnibego Man - story about the swearing RV guy.

I've been working myself through 7 seasons of The Trailer Park Boys...hillarious

Biggest surprise was "Goon"
Clicking on it was an accident and I give it 5 stars.

I watched 180 South last year and thought it was good and worth watching, I might be biased because I know most of the characters.

I just watched Secret Yosemite yesterday, a National Geo film. It was good, but again, it was fun for me knowing some of the characters, including Lincoln Else and Chris Mac.

The Mountain is a classic, watched that one for the first time as a kid.

Man on Wire was good, saw that a few years ago.

BUT, Hobo with a Shotgun and Tucker & Dale vs. Evil? Really? I couldn't get through 20 minutes of it. Worst crap I've tried to watch in a long time... but, each to his own I suppose.

If you're looking for violence Seeking Justice has a way better story line with plenty of action.

Wilfred is awesome.

Been trying Hell on Wheels, but it feels too much like they cleaned up Deadwood. I do like more exploration of Native American issues though.

But, goddamn, I wish there'd been another season of Deadwood.

Oh, yes, Jim Gaffigan has several comedy specials on Netlix as well. His newest: Mr. Universe. He manages to be supremely funny while never really trodding into offensive terrain. Not that I'm against offensive terrain, I just admire the accomplishment.

This movie premise is that the world was destroyed in a nuclear war many years ago. Now the human race has been almost wiped out and common frogs have mutated into intelligent, bipedal creatures. The human race has been sterilized by the war radiation, and human women outnumber men. Fertile women are a very rare, but fertile men are even rarer. Roddy Piper is an opportunist drifter. This Roddy 'Sam Hell' Piper has apparently left a string of pregnancies behind him. After being captured, he's taken to the evil 'Med-tech' labs where the female staff then forces him into servicing female candidates. Either, he signs a contract to "work" for them fertilizing women, or he has to go back and face the wrath of the evil frogs beings. The Med-tech women put a steel jock strap on him to protect their property. The strap front plate says, "Property of Provisional Government". But, the evil frog people beings have raided a border town and stolen many rare fertile women. It's up to Sam Hell and two Med-tech staff women to get them out of 'Frogtown' and be fertilized for humanity sake.

Haa haa, no I've been on the wagon for a month. I shattered my tibia plateau and alcohol doesn't really promote healing. So, no beer for me for the next few months... boy do I miss those ice cold IPA's. ;)
