"In a Lonely Place" with Humphrey Bogart. Extremely well crafted movie. I thought this was much better than Sunset Boulevard

I watched 180° South last year and thought it was good and worth watching, I might be biased because I know most of the characters.

I just watched Secret Yosemite yesterday, a National Geo film. It was good, but again, it was fun for me knowing some of the characters, including Lincoln Else and Chris Mac.

The Mountain is a classic, watched that one for the first time as a kid.

Man on Wire was good, saw that a few years ago.

BUT, Hobo with a Shotgun and Tucker & Dale vs. Evil? Really? I couldn't get through 20 minutes of it. Worst crap I've tried to watch in a long time... but, each to his own I suppose.

If you're looking for violence Seeking Justice has a way better story line with plenty of action.

This movie premise is that the world was destroyed in a nuclear war many years ago. Now the human race has been almost wiped out and common frogs have mutated into intelligent, bipedal creatures. The human race has been sterilized by the war radiation, and human women outnumber men. Fertile women are a very rare, but fertile men are even rarer. Roddy Piper is an opportunist drifter. This Roddy 'Sam Hell' Piper has apparently left a string of pregnancies behind him. After being captured, he's taken to the evil 'Med-tech' labs where the female staff then forces him into servicing female candidates. Either, he signs a contract to "work" for them fertilizing women, or he has to go back and face the wrath of the evil frogs beings. The Med-tech women put a steel jock strap on him to protect their property. The strap front plate says, "Property of Provisional Government". But, the evil frog people beings have raided a border town and stolen many rare fertile women. It's up to Sam Hell and two Med-tech staff women to get them out of 'Frogtown' and be fertilized for humanity sake.

Well, it helps if you're really drunk. Did you drink enough?

Haa haa, no I've been on the wagon for a month. I shattered my tibia plateau and alcohol doesn't really promote healing. So, no beer for me for the next few months... boy do I miss those ice cold IPA's. ;)

The new, English take on Sherlock Holmes is frigging great. So far there are two seasons, with three episodes in each.

Fun stuff, that is ...

That Mitchell And Webb Look (superb sketch comedy from the BBC).

Peep Show (a sitcom starring the same people as Mitchell and Webb Look that is filmed almost entirely in first-person perspective. It sounds stupid and gimmicky, but it's actually very clever.)

Surfwise

A fascinating, yet mildly disturbing account of one family's "letting go" of the norm.

Fubar two sucked in comparison to the original. Shame it's not on Netflix streaming.

Season two of Portlandia is on now, and it's as funny as the first season.

There's a series about some of Bob Marleys sons riding ducatis through S Africa. I only watched the first installment so far. It's OK, but I like Ziggys music, so I'll probably watch more.

I just watched the best music-related documentary I've ever seen:
http://www.netflix.com/WiPlayer?movieid=70267584&trkid=2734380

Muscle Shoals.

How fricken' badass is the music that came through that place. It's got me fired up about music like I haven't been in a long time. The story-telling about the people involved, the motivations, also lives up to the quality music. Duane Allman getting Wilson Picket to do a cover of a Beatles song when all the other session dudes were out to lunch? Aretha Franklin soul queen being backed by all whitey southern dudes who definitely had soul? Greg Allman talking about Duane messing up his elbow riding a horse across a street, giving him a bottle of Coricidin pills and a Taj Mahal record, and that inspiring the Southern Rock slide mastery of the Allman Brothers, Derek & the Dominoes, etc.

"Senna" a gripping documentary. Friends from Brazil told me it was a national tragedy when he died.
"Klitschko", another gem, about the boxing brothers from Ukraine.
