About 40 mins from Oakdale on the way to the Valley. Anyone been? I can't find any reviews on Yelp.

I been climbing and thinking about climbing way too much, cosmicorgasm. Last episode of sexy time was about a month ago.
But seriously, I know I am not the only one who drove by that place numerous times and thought "hmmmm wtf is it doing in the middle of nowhere!?"

No you're not the only one who wonders. we usually draw the conclusion that that place has to be the saddest place on earth. It's both equally sad for performer and dancer. If your life leads you to Jamestown and has you dancing there, the fates have been really cruel.

But seriously....... Have you ever seen cars there?
Stopped at the Winkin' Lantern once BITD. I think we were looking for refreshment or sustenance on the way home from the Valley late at night. One and only time I ever went in. Was a pretty sad place even then.

well, if you take a left at the corner, you quickly arrive at the state prison. if you continue straight, you will soon arrive at the neighborhood where lots of the prisoner's families live and an area that has long been popular with bikers.
i'd say the location isn't too mysterious.

OMG Shiro someone found it!!! I had 3 people working on it (including myself). Well done.
Someone had their best time there.
Someone said "This place looks like the strip club from Dusk to Dawn...bikers - vampires and booze."
This place has potential.
Seriously, this place could be next ST Bay Area meetup on Friday night. Leave work an hour earlier at 4, and be there by 8 sipping martinis, chatting about climbs you want to do on Saturday, free pool, and semi decent dancers? Could be BIG LULZ

maybe you were going much later than I usually do. I expect the Girls Girls Girls (if there are any) don't start working till midnight. ...hadn't thought about the prison angle. The weird orange glow at night viewed from 120 is the Sierra Conservation Center between the Winkin' Blinkin' and Copperopolis

After driving by it 100s of times on the way to the valley curiosity got the better of my buddy and me. We went in on a Tuesday night.....yaaaaaa we were expecting it to be awful haha, but it was surprising good for a total dive strip bar on a tuesday.

My twin and I made the drive to Yosemite one weekend. He's a hipster, a city boy. I'm a climber, and more at ease in the wild. We drove from Berkeley and made our first stop at the Whiskey River Saloon. The entire place was deserted on a Friday night. Everyone went done to the Cow Run in Oakdale. Apparently, once a week, the whole town heads out to race cattle, drink, and bet on the best bovine to win.
Our next stop was the Winkin Lantern. I'm not much of a strip club fan but it's the closest bar to Chinese Camp, where we were holing up for the night. We walked in to see 4 people. The bartender, a balding 60 year old in a collared shirt and a tie pulled down to his chest, a redneck, and a 42 year old woman in a shredded spandex uni that she didn't belong in. We sat at the bar, and drank a warm budweiser while the stripper messed with the stereo. We both guzzled quickly down to the beer label, intent on leaving quickly. Right when the opening licks of G n R's Sweet Child of Mine played, the lights went out in the bar. I suppose that's why they call it the Winking Lantern. When the power returned, two minutes later, the stripper was still messing with the stereo. The bartender was looking for the circuit breaker. And the business man and the redneck were drunk in the next room grinding away on the stripper pole.
We finished our beers and headed out to Chinese Camp, where we sat next to an old YOSAR stove and had a couple pale ales. The little shop session was definitely the high light. I don't recommend the Winkin Lantern, even for those who are attracted to dive bars for whatever hipster reason you're thinking. The place sucks.

The reviews by patrons don't sound that bad:
"The best club ever!!!!! Special shout out to Marylin and Candy. I did not know what we would find inside, but was very happy as the night went on!!!! Great time, great people, great place. Even though it looks a little rough around the edges, it is nice and smooth inside!! Haha"
What exactly constitutes the "best club ever!!!!!" To each his own . . .

Hey Shane, thanks for opening up the dialog here!
I would really like to understand what is the lay of the land in terms of well adjusted ladies doing what they like to make money from the dudes willing to pay it, versus the whole human trafficking thing. And are there degrees in between of people who don't really want to be doing that job but they need the money badly enough that they do it anyways?
I don't know enough to know what I do and don't know here, don't want to make assumptions, and I think that your sharing here might be a unique opportunity for us to hear a relevant perspective.
