May I make a suggestion, which is undoubtedly totally uncouth, and for which I will surely be slagged? That is, that there be nametags available for those who want them, perhaps at the entrance? So we know who's who? If people put their real name, plus ST handle (if any), so much the better.

I bid US$50 for the Chouinard-Frost ice hammer, to get things started. I won't know until February if I can make it in person in April, so thought I better get a bid in for something I might want.

count me in too, why not another party to behave badly at lol.

I'll see what relics I can offer for sale or auction or however you're raising money off of gear donations.

Edit: Russ, if you don't go pick up that Forest Wall hammer from Mo's it'll go to the Gordon.

Well, as the event is in the middle of the California desert, I was kind of hoping that no one would recognize the thing, and I could get a good deal. Maybe they'd think of it as some sort of weird bolt remover or something. You would let the cat out of the bag. Now maybe I'll have to get an agent to bid on it for me, if I can't make it. Darn!

For the uninstructed, the photo is of an obscure Chouinard prototype, which never really amounted to much. A few of them were used in Canada, but they didn't catch on. So nothing to see, move along...

dee ee, will you be my secret agent, and make johntp an offer he can't refuse?
