Sorry I couldn't make it, Nature. Family issues and a wee car crash sidelined my intentions. Looks like a typically interesting Piton-Ron sushi-fest topography; together with the usual excellent cast of characters = a guaranteed good time!

Not the Tomato!

Say it ain't so, Jello.

You would have been in for a rougher one.
I was actually able to cut away at the last minute, and rolled into Kor acres sunset friday just in time for the sideways rain, about 2" of it!

I found an abandoned trailer nearby, but didn't need to use it when the rain stopped at midnight, but saw lights pull into the fest. (I call the trailer the Rokjox paradise after finding 3 wolf pictures on it's walls.)

The weather improved from there but not really a lot, and it was pretty cool for the whole event.

We arrived after the slanting rain and had a great time. Explored a few crags and one very interesting huge cave.

Hung around the fire, some folks all night.

Lot of folks had fun, some of whom I hadn't met before.
Old friends and new.

Occupy Golden Valley was a successful event. We managed to squeeze the 99% dry lemon and raised some funds.

The next SushiFest will most likely be next Feb/March at Cochise.

Including fishbux, Cosmic photos and DVD sales we are looking at about a grand and a half.

But add to that several donations as well as thousand dollar pledges from Royal Robbins, Tom Cochrane and myself, and if we can get matching funds from several companies then we can make the $17K target needed for Layton's procedure.

Layton has the toughest row to hoe though because it requires 46 visits!

Looks like a really good time!

About the Red Orgasm, Ron...I hate to say this, but she's being dissected for parts, the insurance company wrote her off as a complete loss. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the accident, and I'm disputing the citation I received. I have pretty conclusive proof that the hand-control on my brakes slipped, causing the rear-ender on I-!5. The upside is that I received a settlement for more than I had paid for the Tomato and I have found a beautiful fully-disability-equipped Dodge Caravan with low miles that drives great. I'll post pics, soon.

Nice job you and Nature and the rest, keeping the ball rolling for Layton.

Damn!

What did you take up the butt and how close was she following?

Actually, I rear-ended her, Ron, when traffic slowed suddenly and my hand brake failed. I did manage to push the foot brake, just as I made contact with the vehicle in front, probably attenuating the force of the crash a little.

Frumy's first picture isn't there.

Tried to come up with some Arizona theme sushi.
Still waiting to see the Apache Roll (pine nuts, asparagus and raw horsemeat). It is a lot easier to make than a Gabby Gifford Roll. That one takes some brains. (See the final scene of Hannibal).
