Hahahahaha, repubs will drop Benghazi like a hot potato now that they've been caught lying about it

Can we get hearings into who made and released the fake emails? Hahahaha

Benghazi will become a catchphrase for a fake scandal, like Watergate is for a real one - and, more importantly, Hillary will throw it in their faces when they try to pull the same sh#t when she's POTUS

Obama and Hllary both can operate with impunity now - no repubs will be taken seriously when they accuse them of anything anymore - not that they ever were

Repubs Have Failed.

Wary of rifts in their own party, Heritage urges Repubs to avoid doing any real work and investigate full time.

http://thegrio.com/2013/05/16/heritage-to-republicans-dont-legislate-just-scandalize-obama/#bmb=1

In a letter to members of Congress, which was obtained by NBC News, Heritage Action for America, the lobbying arm of the Heritage Foundation (which recently found itself in hot water over the racial IQ theories of the co-author of their widely panned immigration reform study, Jason Richwine, who resigned from the think tank last Friday), urged Republicans on Capitol Hill not to govern, and instead, to focus on the would-be “scandals” plaguing the Obama administration.

The letter, which is addressed to House Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, trumpets the negative media buzz surrounding the White House, saying that, “for the first time, the activities of the Obama administration are receiving a sustained public vetting.  Americans’ outrage over Benghazi is amplified by the Internal Revenue Service’s intimidation of conservative grassroots organizations and a cascade of negative headlines.  There is the real sense the Obama administration has been less than forthright with the American people, the press and lawmakers.”

Keep the focus off OUR differences

In light of the white hot media spotlight on the administration, and to deflect attention from the many policy areas where Republicans don’t quite get along, the letter urges: “it is incumbent upon the House of Representatives to conduct oversight hearings on those actions, but it would be imprudent to do anything that shifts the focus from the Obama administration to the ideological differences within the House Republican Conference.”

“To that end, we urge you to avoid bringing any legislation to the House Floor that could expose or highlight major schisms within the conference.  Legislation such as the Internet sales tax or the FARRM Act which contains nearly $800 billion in food stamp spending, would give the press a reason to shift their attention away from the failures of the Obama administration to write another ‘circular firing squad’ article.”

The cover up always makes things worse. Please confess now you used IRS to abuse citizens.

Gosh, I was under the impression that the IRS committed possible offenses against CORPORATIONS, not people.

Of course, Republitard apologists don't know the difference.....

Must be an awful position to be in - knowing you have no real influence, while your constituency dies of old age at the rate of 10,000 a month, and no one's replacing them

Meanwhile your opposition is gaining 100,000 new voters every month, and the fastest growing demographic votes 80% against you

Oh wait - of course - you can just stockpile guns and ammo, and start shooting people when your party gets voted into oblivion. Then the gov't will leave you alone, and you'll win!

Gosh, I was under the impression that the IRS committed possible offenses against CORPORATIONS, not people.

Not just any corporation. A new classification of tax exempt corporation that was vaguely defined.

I just cannot imagine why the IRS would apply additional scrutiny to such organizations (yes, sarcasm.)

But this story really illustrates again how the Republicans are out of touch with the public. It will appeal to their base, and give a boost in ratings to Fox and Limbaugh, just like all their other "scandals." The usual fanboys will stay glued to their televisions waiting for the next release of "evidence."

But it won't help the party gain wider appeal. Political moderates, and those not who don't follow politics closely, will just see this story as "IRS targets likely tax cheats."

Although taxpayers don't like the IRS, they like tax cheats even less.

Thank God those hard working agents at the IRS were doing their job and flagging the tax cheats.
I guess they also wanted the 501(c)4 status so they could shield their doners, so they could use all the Saudi dark money they could get to influence policy here in America.

I think Coz was trying to get at "They are all the same!"

Then why are the Republicans obstructing all forward motion in the Congress, and instead want the Gov to come to a stand still racked with scandal?

Why did they obstruct all the jobs bills?
Why do they want to take Obama down?

To say that they are the same is Complete ignorance.

Dems work for the people, Repubs work for the rich elite and Corporations
That is the definition of the difference.

Obama is somewhere in between the two,
most of his work has been devoted to the people, and that has pissed off the rich elite and Greedy Corporations.

Here is how it works, want a better Gov., want less intrusion into your life by the MAN, then you have to Vote Out the Republicans, that are just making things worse for everyone.

Apparently the complaint is that Obama isn't liberal enough!, so we have to vote for Republicans because Obama didn't do what he said he would.

I ask, how will that help?

How can you guys now defend the OBVIOUS partisan crap the IRS has been handing out for decades and FINALLY getting nailed for it.? Would you like it if YOU were the target of that partisan crap? Seriously. If it isnt clear that we NEED TO FLUSH our reps now,, it never will be.

You should hear what your average Iranian is saying about all of this. Im friggin embarrassed to be be part of it now.

"...now defend the OBVIOUS partisan crap the IRS has been handing out for decades and FINALLY getting nailed for it.?"

Who's defending it? Any group applying for tax exempt status should have a timely review of their application.

Does it break my heart that a bunch of whacknut teabagging organizations with a clear agenda to influence the political process received delayed responses to their applications? Of course not.

The primary error on the part of the IRS is that their rules around tax exempt status are particularly vague, and because no-one there took this bull by the horns, it only made matters worse.

Obama's error has been in his capitulating response. He probably didn't have much other choice, but it would have been more accurate to point out that most of those teabagging orgs have no right whatsoever to tax exempt status.

I've donated to the Obama campaign.
