You could have a more intelligent conversation with a 2x4, than with some of the idiots on this thread...

No. The Kochs are not a side show.
They are buying Senators and Congressmen, they are buying our Democracy

They are investing more than ever this election in 2014, they want a Republican Majority in both Houses, they already own a majority in the SCOTUS.

How will they spend their money?

All of it will be spent on negative ads
On Lying smearing ugly BS Propaganda campaign tactics.

Soros, by contrast will only support positive ads that are not negative BS, and for things that Help the middle class.

The Koch brothers, sons of the John Bircher Society Leader are involved in every Bad thing going on in America, anti-Muslim, anti-choice, anti-regulations, anti-environmental, climate change denialism, right wing Christian extremism.
They are truly the Super Villains in American Politics.

The issue is our enormous and growing income disparity - a huge threat to our national well being, economy, stability, and basic values - you know, what this country is suppose to be about?

An interesting consequence: the Supreme Court has ruled that money=speech, and that it is protected.

But this means that the rich have money to spend to influence, and the less well off do not, certainly not in the same numbers.

So, effectivly, the middle class and lower are deprived of their right to speech, and the rich are given an amplifier. A big one. And they are able to drown out all other voices.

We're up to 6.54 million private insurance signups through the exchanges so far.

I wonder how many of those signups are people whose insurance got cancelled because of the Affordable [sic] Care Act.

I must admit, though, that the website does seem to be working well, from what I hear.

Nobody had their insurance plan cancelled because of the ACA. Their plan might have been discontinued at the end of their term because it was no longer compliant with the law, but nobody woke up one day with no insurance.

how ever did you make it through law school, John, with such poor comprehension?

those "cancelled" policies, which account for a paltry 2% or so of the total, were allowed
extensions for another year

but then, you knew that, before you posted, because you are not "pre-biased"

see a pattern? factual ignorance plus partisan bias equals absurd conclusions and posts

It's not factual ignorance he just choose to "deemphasize" facts that don't support his case like any good lawyer should.

Speech is speech. Money simply buys speech.

I personally think, though, that the rise in extremism and hyperpartisanship may have some roots in the ability of those with money to push pet causes. The left loves to demonize the Koch Brothers, and the right responds with "what about George Soros, Tom Steyer, Elon Musk or, for that matter, Al Gore, not to mention all the Hollywood nut cases?"

Perhaps the dominance of rich Democrats in their party's funding explains why income inequality has risen so much under the present administration.

BTW John, the spelling of "Affordable" is correct.

No need for the "[sic]"

I had an interesting thing happen the other day when checking out the new doctors over here...

I asked if they accepted Blue Cross/Blue Sheild and she said "Yes, so long as it wasn't part of OBAMACARE"...

The real leeches and it's not the poor.

The rich can afford to lobby and protect their number one interest...money.

Objection. Nonresponsive to the question. 2% of what?

While we're at it, how many of those signed up actually paid their first premium? I'm sure the witness is aware that there is no coverage until payment of the first premium.

Of those signed up, what is the age mix? Last I saw, about 27% were between 18 and 34, rather than the 40% goal of total enrollees.

And to pile on, what is the acuity of those enrolling? Do tell.

Meanwhile, new polls show the public is less and less enamored with the legislation upon which the Democratic majority squandered its political capital.

another in a very long list of lies

ALL healthcare plans offered by BCBS and others must meet the ACA minimum standards

in short, she must be a typical uninformed and misinformed Republican working there

why don't you pretend to be a mature adult, John?

you could say for instance, while I believe my "principle" of wanting limited government is more important than tens of million of my fellow Americans having healthcare for the first time in their life, ending insurance company abuses, providing subsidies to help lower premiums, etc, ...I am pleased to see this new law being implemented in such an orderly manner and am very happy to see that millions of Americans are now benefitting.

But you can't say that, can you John?

tell me, is being a principled prick a requirement for voting Republican nowadays?

very strange response, Locker

especially because you are now in California, which has embraced the implementation
of the ACA, I am sure "Covered California", the state name for the ACA there would like
very much to know about, and correct, this flat out lie, give them a call.......
