If I could ever figure out how to generate useful energy from even some of Fatty's hot air - not to mention that of the local conspiracy theorists - I'd be a rich man, and the world would be well on its way to solving its energy problems.

TAX THE RICH AND ALL THE NEO-CONS TOO...just take the tea baggers list and increase their taxes a few points, call it a demonstration tax for using public parks to protest spending...

I wanna see this plan on paper. He is a good bullsh#t-artist afterall....

Always talk a grand game, then delivers utter bullsh#t. Sounds like a bunch of unions were targeted for more jobs, so he has the base covered.

Why don't you google his speech, get the text, and then print it out so you have it on paper.

You can probably get the hard copy in your hands in a couple of minutes.

I missed it as I went bouldering, but caught the part where it will only cost $400 BILLION on the radio on the way over.

Please, remember that this is only money. In fact, for those who do support this kind of investment, I say if it's such a grand idea, it should be voluntary. If you think it's a great idea, send your money right in. They are accepting donations right now. Not kidding. Send it in. Good money after bad no doubt. Still, the man is a masterful speaker I'd say. Hope and change baby! Hope and change. I didn't hear the Nancy Pelosi rebuttal afterwards...probably just as well, the blood pressure wouldn't do well.

Not to worry, a President can only sign legislation that both houses of congress pass.

Republicans control the House of Representatives, and the Tea Party controls 1/3 of them

Likely nothing will be spent, and your taxes will not be cut again, total gridlock in Washington.

I'm just impressed as hell that fattrad sat through the whole thing.

Sorry I missed it. Not.

Sounds like status quo from Obama.

A $400B plan? It'll fail. Just like his other 'plans'. Too small, not bold enough, ready to give up on it as soon as Boehner walks in the room.

Jeez, I wish Hillary had won.

They need to look like us, not millionares. Tone it down and get the f*#k to work.

Funny. And ironic.

I kept looking at the 'leaders' in the seats when they'd pan out and thought, "What a bunch of sad-sack elitists who have nothing in common to their base, and they 'represent' me?"

I then wondered of a normal person in khakis and a collered shirt, a Congressperson, to say you all are full of crap! Your ties and nice tans don't fool me. In fact, it makes me distrust you more.

Tea Party rock on.

EDIT:

Jeez, I wish Hillary had won.

You think she would have spent a trill? I agree. Hillary would be better.

Anyone who seriously would like the "details", which obviously could not be presented tonight due to time constraints, is welcome to read them in depth next week online.

Most of the proposed legislation is tax cuts, for both individuals and businesses.

Surely most reasonable people would like tax cuts.

But again, much ado about nothing, the Republicans are controlled by the Tea Party,
and they are much more concerned with defunding National Public Radio and Planned Parenthood than they are with passing legislation to create jobs.

The Republican House has been in charge for eight months, and has passed zero legislation that targets job creation for the unemployed.

No reason to believe they will change their minds now.

After all, their mantra is the government that governs least, governs best.

Always do nothing, because if you do something, someone might criticize it.

Really? Is that true?

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Yet another capitulation to the Right.

We are all Republicans now.

That's a flat out lie!

Three different bills to straighten out this mess have passed the house.

Dickless Harry has blocked all of them!

Apogee, ok then, would you prefer a massive spending bill to tax cuts for workers and

tax incentives to employers to encourage hiring?

Why is targeting small businesses with direct hiring tax credits capitulation?

Who else is there to encourage to hire people?

Norton, those are small potatoes. What we needed 24 months ago was a truly innovative, bold WPA-style plan that invested fully in our infrastructure. Obama isn't ballsy enough for such things- instead, he opted for a MOR solution that he naively thought might float with the Repugs.

Hillary would have been waaaaaaay smarter. She would have kicked those bastards in the balls, then smiled as she went about her plans. She's been there, she's been bloodied by the Right, and she knows how to play their game.

Posting that here in an attempt to defend a lame economic position makes as much sense as the juxtaposition of the two unrelated statements on the tailgate.
