Pretty sure that's Valerio Folco, if that's the info. you're looking for. He be the Daddy of some routes on Orco (I think?) - www.valeriofolco.it. I seem to remember some picture of him on ST of him soloing Tempest or something like that, maybe that's where you remember him?

With the late great Bruce riding the Tempest, now that was a great video.
Orco has some steep stone, and way smooth to knott chuck that rock off during lead!
