Can you share your copy of "Facing the Extreme"? I'll pay to have it put onto DVD. I've been looking for a copy for 10 years.

That stuff brings back a lot of memories, Michael. I remember when you were living in HVCG, Bachar always sought you out for bouldering whenever he pulled in, because nobody else could keep up with him.

It was also a treat watching you and John Long (in his prime) climbing all these test piece problems at Giant Rock airport (remember that bus full of weird people that pulled in?). Of course it turned into a do or die, last man standing competition between you two and...

Largo came in second.

DUDE there was a time when you were as bad as bad gets. Keep posting!

There are still routes to be done in Oregon if he'd get his ass over from the coast once in awhile...

One of the first pieces of climbing media I ever watched was some dude climbing stem gem. Backwards. Barefoot. With a guitar.

I was too new to even understand it.

The shot of Bachar Cracker upthread reminds me of the
time I went there with Mike...needless to say he sent the thing,
had it wired and I told him I didn't think I'd ever do it.

Basically he'd have none of that, and convinved me I could.
No way, I thought, just getting to the lip was like going to
the moon, not in the cards 4 me...

Still, Mike demonstrated the climb again and admonished
me in a friendly but direct way to basically pull my head out;
He knew I could do it...

A few weeks later, somehow, he was right. Finally after years
of thinking no way, he'd convinced me I could. And I did. Got
it fairly wired too, even doing it in hiking boots w/out warm up,
over the lip and to the top of the boulder...success!

It was a point well taken, had learned a lesson.

It should also be noted Mike is terrific musician, and a really
good artist, not to mention just one of the nicest and most
positive people I've ever known.

Watusi,

This is gonna be a good thread :-0

OMGoodness!

Climbing. Keith Brueckner. Woodson. Physics. Music. Secret Space Programs. Massive Spaceships (the size of ocean liners) to the Moon and Mars. HHHHhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm. Where have I heard that before? HHhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm. Kinda sounds like an Ark on the Moon that I'm aware of. Lol.

Busy can't post more but will and thanks for the tip to the film. Never seen it. Cool.

I'll watch it later when I get home:

Much bigger scope than I originally thought! Like opening a time capsule from some long-gone age...I'll post more soon, but thought that this, probably my biggest ever compliment coming from someone "Bonafide," might keep this going until I get back to the scanner... :)

Ron Gomez! Brother and friend, to myself and our lost brother Shawn. This is just a shot previously posted here but I've got tons. I'll put them up as they surface... :)
