Thanks Dean! Sure miss Shawn, use to have some fun times at the Huntington Palace(watching "fillet films") and Del Mar Ranch. I can still hear him playing the ivory keys, such a sweet sound he could pull out of a piano!

Ron
I thought the climb off was Tony and Dan. It was on Moby Dick a dino , so Tony was at a disadvantage.
After the contest I worked on a static variation for weeks on off days before I could pull it off at will. Ah sh#t maybe your right or we are both wrong .

Classic photos. But surely the second pic is mislabeled, that's not Watusiman on the left, it's Jack Nicholson....

Yer probably right Rich, I have vague recollections of those contest at Santee. Didn't the place burn down that year? I remember Yabo was covered in soot....he slept on the ground the night before and was black when Howard King and I pulled up early in the morning the day of the contest.

Every seen Ryan McGinley, the darling or modern American photography? He copied Shawn, I swear.

Thanks, Dean. I hadn't seen Dick S. since about the time that photo was taken. Good stuff, all.
