Sam Kinneson was funnier then sh#t...Seen many of the other greats(12 or more including anyboby except Lenny that you can name, Cosby, Prior, George, et al. I live in Reno for christ's sake), but Sam had something new and irrelevant going on. It used to be a 2 drink minimum to see a headliner at Harrah's....Bill is coming back and he is Pissed.....

Rodney's wifes' cooking was so bad that the flies chipped in and bought a screen door...Instead of come and get it , it was try and eat it...Dangerfield had a great line about his surgeon operating on Rodney just before Dangerfield died....Can't remember it but the man was funny right to the end..

Andy K. was brilliant but many performances were beyond the audiences comprehension....and lost on small minded individuals expecting him to do the "Norm", of which he only did once and quickly moved forward to stuff beyond that.
As a comedian he had small appeal but as a satirical commentator on the world at large we our still learning from him.

Extra credit for comedians who can be hilariously funny and 'clean'. I love dirty jokes and blue stuff, but its 'easier'

These days, I gotta go with Jim Jeffries:

Somewhere out there

George Carlin - Just for the sheer volume of material he left us with over the last 40 years

Lenny Bruce - For his pointing out the absurdity of our obscenity laws

Any comedian who has point out that we, as a People/Nation are full of sh#t... THen they should be on the list too.

All others... Don't hold a candle to these guys

2nd for Kinneson. All the best comics it seemed came out of Boston. Was a trial by fire if you will.

Of course its sort of a silly debate, because it depends on what style of humor you have. I really don't find certain comedians funny, while others that are largely regarded as not being all that great I eat up because they resonate with my line of thinking (which is a f*#ked up one).

For that reason, Joe Rogan and Stephen Lynch always make me laugh. Maybe because it feels like someone else shares my phukked up sense of humor.

warning - obscene and funny to other 12 year olds.
