tomorrow's eve finds us peeling back some domestic layers
and donning squalid candors.

celebrating brother ed's homebrew,
fine food and merriment,
some jousting and rousting
and otherwise emotionally exposed.

if you are in the area on friday,
join me at lovers leap.

the fall colors are melting off the trees
like a mind unravelling tandem psychedelics.
the aires are cool and the mountain freaks are playful.

i'll be up at the east wall around 8 am,
rope soling if necessary but would rather be sharing a rope
with some other saturated spirit.

is a ghowle anything like a ghoulie or a ghostie, or a long-legged beastie?

Shoot, I would love to go, but I'm on the wrong continent. Have a blast. Ever done Bookmark? A lot of people skip that one, but it's pretty cool. Eagle Buttress L and R are also really cool. If I could be at the Leap, I think I would go for The Groove up to April Fools, followed by whatever is available on the E. Wall. Then boulder my ass off. Ahh, the memories...

Ghoul-we

At some point, a Couloir become a Gulley. Right at that point, is the Ghoulwe. ;-)

I've got a pink plastic Ghoulwe cup that dates back to piggy backing on the campsite at some long ago Tuoloumne event.

Norwegian, Mark Hudon speaks the truth - was with the man on Mt. Shasta in 1980 when the Ghoulwe Mountaineering Club was formed. I think he bailed off the Shield the next year - glad he cruised it a few weeks ago, almost 30 years later.

Tomorrow night is the annual gathering to usher in the ski season. Bring skis and fireproof clothing. I guarantee it will snow in Camino, CA. Not enough to keep us off the rock of Lover's Leap, Saturday, however.

Yo Norwegian, yes indeed the mountain freaks are playful and so good to hear from MH who was in fact a founding member of the Ghoulwe Mountaineering Club during my dark years of being cloistered by a Non. See you tomorrow evening and whoever the freak you bring, Mucci?

mid-night passionate bump...

im a little boy in a big man's world.
im scared of the path ahead of me,
littered with letters, bound with rope,
and disjointed in it's progression.

sorry for the mispell. no disrespect intended.
i live in an un-capitalized world, so it'll have to be ghoulwe on my hand,
even if we have to wrestle over it.

looks like i'll be rope souling...
my heart is a sea of emotional sharks,
sloshing along my lost path.

Norwegian, I can only say that I'm happy your lost path will lead to my garage this evening! Eric, wish to see you sooner than later and hopefully this winter. BTW, heading to the Leap on Saturday & staying in Brother Tim's tree fort until it rains on Sunday.

Kat, it is pronounced: "gool-wee"

Great group of people. They were my link into climbing back when I was just 16 years old... Thanks David Stam!

the forest spirits rowdy.
