Totem Cams are only good for 5 years!!

Right there in the fine print. Estimated lifespan is 5 years.


Here is the whole tag on the units.

Locker, check it out. Cams are made of metal.

Many of us have cams that are 20 years old or greater.

"The Totem Cams estimated lifespan in five years from its first usage".

It doesn't say "replace the sling in five years."

It does say "replace frayed, melted, torn slings".

They do have repairs available though.

How long are the 12 little cables going to last on that unit? They are all about 1/16 of an inch. Not very big.

that's the claim on ALL "Soft goods" too...(webbing/slings/etc...)


So WHAT's the big deal???...

Just shows that you don't read before you shoot your mouth off.

Its lame I don't know this, but whats the lifespan on camalots?
