P. Envy has been kind enough to offer his lifetime of wood floor skilz. Bamboo plywood to start with some inlay of who knows what.

There will be no raw turkey served.

Let's think... 27 November... There's something about that time of the year in your country...

Oh, I remember! It's a special week when you Americans support you national airlines by paying bizarrely high prices to fly to wherever your grandparents live so that you can watch football, shop in malls, and eat a huge meal.

In a sane world I'd be able to say "Hey, I'm not American, and anyway my grandparents are all dead. I just want to fly down to Arizona where my pal Doug is going to give me some healthy food. So I can buy a couple of tickets at normal prices, right?"

You're hurting me, man. I really want to go. But Thanksgiving?

Oh, all right, all right, I'll check out the airfares...

yes, Under.

they are huge.

some are almost 3" across. so tender when raw. $18/lb

ponzu sauce adds nice flavor. I'd love to figure out what sauce Hajime put on the scallop/geoduck sashimi we started off with.

i need more sauce recipes.

I did a really nice seaweed / seafood salad last night. five types of fish - all seared or BBQ'd. the seaweed marinated for a day in mirin/soy/rice vinegar.

I think it is too tight for me. I will be visiting my family in Wisconsin, arriving 11/19. I'm hoping they will do an early T/Giving on that weekend, and then do the real day with the various in-laws, and then I could leave before and make it.... I guess I will have to see what happens. you probably won't even have to elbow your way to the front of the sushi bar. if you do I suggest sharpening your chop sticks. sink one of those in the back of someone's knee and you'll have front row standing at the fish slicing station.

or just load a bowl, grab a beer and yell, "coming through! sushi chef delivery".

wow, the guest list is building.

i give you, locker, permission to file the first trip report. maybe you and cosmic should tag team it.

i can do spicy tuna. though others might agree that if I put my secret sauce on a tuna roll that'd be close enough.

this was so easy a week ago. My, Riotch, P. Envy, and the Doctor. I could count the guest list on one hand. now I gotta work.

We'll be on the east side in some camp sites that are on the west side of the road a little ways before the F.S. Campground. I'll probably roll out early friday morning and stay until sunday. If everyone is cool with two nights of sushi ($60) then... uh... we'll have two nights. we might even have enough folks to get dah fish from hawaii. maybe flight 808 will bring it over. or a missile.

Glad you enjoyed it Jim. Always a pleasure...

I'm game for Lemmon, Cochise early...haven't been to 'The dry'(but my car won't get all the way there anyway). Best wishes to Doug and all of you who make it to Cochise to enjoy his sushi. We really wanted to go, but just couldn't do it.

A few of the Seattle supertopians are getting together for our own mini Supertopo thanksgiving, so we'll raise a glass to all of you fish eaters down there this afternoon.

Anyone need a partner in Cochise on Sunday? Or can I possibly join any single pitch stuff? I will not be joining the actual Sushifest festivities (although I did attend one in Flagstaff in 2007), but I just happen to be in the area right now and it looks like I may not have a partner for Sunday.

Unfortunately, I do not have my rack or rope with me, all I have is my own personal gear, but I would be interested in climbing multi-pitch in the low 10s or any single pitch (not the strongest spurt climber right now; however, I belay up to 5.12).

I will be checking back here through the weekend...Thanks.

The Master did it once again, the finest that is fo' sho'!

We got stuck on the West Side of the Stronghold, finding the fly paper hard to escape. Still, The Atomizer, Marshead, and yours truly arrived mid-afternoon on Saturday to the East Side, where we found the "fish" sign point the way. Once safely in camp, evidence of graphic partying from the night before abounded, and the fish-heads were just beginning to get their climbing game on.

Magic, that is. Sorry, no pics (my camera ran out of batteries), but I will tell you, Four Smokin' Hot Chicks is one sushi dish that only the Master nature could conjure.

Too good seeing ol' friends, Reload!

It should be re-named, we never really ate any sushi. Nature didn't bother with any rice.

Just fish and more fish, except for the raw quail eggs, clams, crab and some stuff I couldn't ID.

All Good.

Big props to MIKE. he supplied a keg of beer.

And along with the whiskey, smoke and ?????????? the rest is sort of fuzzy.

Make sure you get to the next one because one day "Sushi by Nature" will be bigger than that burning man thing and you will need a VIP Ticket to enter.

And there was way more than 4 hot chicks in attendance.....

it could have been demon Rum.

but who knows?

he was not passing that one around.

lots of other stuff got passed around

2 bad Dwain and Locker didn't show up

we could have had seven hit the dirt instead of only five

Alright already!!!!!

Jack is not a bad dog. He's just following his instincts. Its my fault, OK!!!!

I'm a bad owner. Bad owner, bad owner.

He really is a good dog, and I really am a bad dog - so don't fuk w/ me!

Perhaps someone would be willing to write to the Dog Whisperer for me and explain the situation.

not true, rich. you got him late. he was rez-imprinted. there's not much you can do with that.

I know of no way, even whispering, to teach a dog to not mark every fu cking thing in camp.

I did noticed I "appreciated" him just a little more this trip. He's trying. But his early life as a rez dog kinda screwed him up.

I know you wanted to leave him at home. But that wasn't an option. But at this point there's little you can do about his behavour.

I hate to say it but you gotta have him tied up most of the time. Either poor jack doesn't get to roam or every camper around you is looking at jack, and then you, and wondering why there is piss on their stuff. Pick your poison?
