t*r there are probably many people who grew up eating bugs that live in the US now.
A little slice of home for them.
PS. Bacon and anything Kicks Ass! How could you have an issue with Bacon and Cheese?
Have you never had a bacon cheeseburger before?
Damn, now I'm hungry.

One time on an oil rig in wyo/so Dakota, Dingus McGee ate 3 lobsters when his co-workers wouldn't eat those "giant grass hoppers"

Absolutely Cosmic did that picture. Shack only enlarged it. Easy enough to do when I'm on here as it is MY avatar.

Sorry for that confusion, the photo has credits at the bottom don't it?
Cosmic has far better PS skills than I.
You all are lucky I'm not as good as Cosmic...I would be dangerous.

the witchetties were the last item on this link. it's like expensive wine, you have to educate your palate.
"'perfumey, tastes like salty apples ... like a scented candle blended with an artichoke' ... the new york city bug eaters are eating a giant water bug, lethocerus indicus, a three-inch-long south asian insect. and it’s just not just for sensation--it’s for mother earth. eating bugs has become one of the greenest ways to get your protein since soy milk ..."

On a lighter note, we used to have a Chia type pet, that grew chives. Our cat, Hipshot used to chomp the chives much to Michele's consternation. I'll never forget the time she tossed the affectionate 'hippo' onto the couch with a cry of "What am I going to do with you? onion breath?"

Jaybro,
I can second the story about oil rig cuisine. At Prudhoe Bay you could
tell the Texans from the Alaskans at Thanksgiving cause the Texans would
stuff their silly faces with turkey which left brailers full of fresh King
Crab for us Alaskans; didn't even use plates - just cruised up to the dude
dispensing the crab with the cafeteria tray and said "Fill 'er up!"
