edited cuz it's puzzling

just a chunk of wood per each. this ^^^ is actually tax dollars spent. but scrape marks are a new to me.
hope they seed them cuz tumble weeds really dig disturbed ground but they can be out competed

In Utah & Nevada juniper (aka cedar) eradication was & is done to improve cattle grazing on public lands. The most destructive way to do it is called "chaining," although setting stuff on fire works too, but sometimes causes troulbe when the fire spreads onto private lands, or closes highways.

Stretch a length of battleship anchor chain between two big bulldozers & let her rip. The wood was not utilized. Archaeologists hate "chaining" quite a bit.
