Guido,

I used to do that back when I was 9 or 10 years old. Second floor traverse from my bedroom window to my sister's bedroom window over a concrete patio below. It took 20 years for me to realize that was my destiny.

That drawing of TinTin buildering reminds me that I've often thought Herge (the guy who drew the TinTin stories) must have been a climber. Climbing appears in several of the stories -- in the Himalaya, the Andes, and elsewhere -- and he always has the movement and positions just as they should be.

Oh, that's a cactus? At first I thought it might be a self portrait.

Little Joe, my first ride on a skateboard was at Stoney Point back in the 60s. Yvon brought an early model out to Stoney to play on the newly constructed, but still closed to traffic, portion of Topanga Blvd when they were building in the Simi Freeway. It was a steep downhill ramp. Only surfer Chouinard was adept at skateboarding. The rest of us were terrified by the speeds that we reached with no way to stop or get off until it leveled off. Once was enough for me. Yvon never quit laughing.
