For obvious reasons I really dig a wine called CIRCUS

From Argentina.

Cab Sav or Malbec. I prefer the Cab Sav.

Tami, we must meet in the real sometime....you are lol special. I'll bet you don't "chat" either. Just have fun in the outdoor world with fun people. Well that's only my take and a guess. Cheers, lynne

Edit: I'm nearly reduced to 2buck chuck, have to save the coin for some decent cerveza....like Old English 800, my new ale of choice. :DD

Fred Franzia (maker of two buck chuck)[not to be confused with Franzia wine which his father owned and sold much to his dismay] is an amazing man. A strait forward no bullshit kinda guy. If you were to ask him, he'd tell you all the imported dirt, expensive fancy varieties of grapes, prestigious vineyards and expensive bottles of wine are all nonsense. You can make a two dollar bottle of wine that competes with a 1000 dollar bottle of wine, no prob. He's even been quoted for saying you can grow grapes on asphalt and win awards.

Interesting fellow who has hundreds of millions of dollars but still drives an old beater truck.

Anyway, I recently bought a bottle of something red. Never liked wine of any sort. Figured maybe my palate has matured over the years and I'd take a liking to it... Nope! That stuffs crap, I'll stick to beer.

I'm not much of a wine drinker or buyer, and so can't contribute to the discussion of the niceties. I guess I'm a little repelled by the pretentiousness of it all. My few purchases seem based on country of origin (Canada), price, and visual attraction of bottle and label, but there you are.

Maybe PTPP will learn me about these things if we go on a vertical camping trip next year.

In the meantime, where does one buy "two buck chuck"? Maybe the next time I'm in the US I'll buy some and give it a try.

Two-Buck Chuck Cabernet, if left in the cellar for a few years, seems to be the all-time best value in red wine. It's a bit harsh, right out the door.

It seems that there is a Trader Joe's in metropolitan Bellinghamster, just across the border. A stop on my next field trip.

if anyone would bother to let a 2 buck chuck sit for awhile before drinking it, most of the bottles are quite drinkable and are similar tasting to other blended wines I've had.

I'll second apogees Clos du bois nomination, but more particularly the 2004 Merlot. Never had a bad bottle of the 2004.

"Awwwwwwwww, c'mon Dad, do I have to? Math sucks."

Oh. Wine. Sorry, that's the kind of whine I'm most familiar with these days.

Carry on.

Edit: Norwegian, my cousin just named his son August at my suggestion! Hope he turns out ok.
