Damn, I didn't know Bobby Ewing did walls!

So there was this summer in Bishop when Rudy was living with a photographer known as The Warden but he had a mean hankering for beers with the boys--part of "Cub Scout Summer". Problem was that he'd have to leave abruptly knowing full well that if the Warden caught him away from the house he'd be busted. Mussy'd razz him something terrible about how the Warden'd be checking the temperature of the porch bulbs to see if he'd been away and not turned on the light. Rudy'd play it cool to a point then literally bolt from Whiskey Creek to make it home before lockdown.

Anyhow, The Lone Wolf, as Doug Van Homes was also know, was a really skilled rope-soloist with ascents of Dark Star, Red Dihedral, and some desert towers (Isaac, maybe?) to his credit. Good to know he's out there.

Tar, if you see Doug soon, tell him the Vegan says hi.

Man! Some great pics in this thread. I never knew Rudy, but I sure remember seeing him around the Valley back in the late '70s.
