I first saw Steve E. in Santa Cruz right after his first album. He was late for the show because his bus broke down. It was just a country bar more or less and not totally packed. He was sorry for being late and played an extra long set and then went and drank beers at the bar. Very cool. I saw him a few years later in S.F. after his fourth album, at the Fillmore or whatever it became; A much bigger venue 'cause Steve was popular by then. I've followed his complete career and it has had it's ups and downs but the man still writes and plays great music.
