FatTrad not only livens up this place, and refuses to take himself too seriously. He also does a lot to discreetly support the climbing community.

I had to dig a little bit, but I knew there would be a fattrad appreciation thread in here somewhere. So, bump.

Though our ideologic differences are often stark, fattrad is one of the very few Repubs who usually remains quite respectful in how he presents his position. (He does a better job than I do, that's ferdamshur.) I oftentimes don't agree with his view of the world, but because he can communicate it in a rational way, I'm always open to hearing it. I have great respect for that, fattrad- you are an important, valuable part of this whackjob ST community. Thanks for being here.

Addendum:
I found this appreciation upthread:

"I give a Kidney or take a bullet for Fattrad. He has some balls not like most of you liberal pussies."

Fattrad: I really like your sense of humor. It has "made my day" on several occasions. Thanks!

^^^hey that's the challenge. why go there if it isn't steep?

i've missed thousands of posts on the polithreads. if that's where he's been laying it out, then i've missed it.
but the little dibs and dabs, just where they're needed, counts for something,
like a chock under a wheel that saves untolled carnage.

despite how it may appear, it's an ecosystem. so save the dunnage

i LIKE THAT HE KEEPS PRESENTING HIS VIEW AND DOESN'T GET ALL PERSONAL OR TAKE IT PERSONALLY. DUDE RULES FOR THAT ALONE. TAKES SOME COURAGE.

I miss Ouch's art.

All great things will end. It's up to us, as a collective, to take up the slack, so to speak...

We all miss him. He was unique and cannot be replaced. May he rest in peace now.

God bless ya, Ouch!
