On Saturday July 28 around 7ish, 2 other climbers and my self were on the south west side of El Cap. The Leader was up and was belaying the second climber when the second climber heard what sounded like a haul bag doping. Couple minutes later we hear a faint "help." We yell back and ask if they need assistance, no reply. Second climber gets to the top on the pitch, both rap down and I attempted to climb up as one of us goes down to see what happened.

About 15 min later, we also go down. I see a woman, late 20's has injuries to the right side of her face. From what I could gather from the situation, she and her friend were practicing aid/big wall techniques on The Nose when she took a ground fall. YSAR personnel said something about spinal injury, but she had movement and feeling in her toes. We assisted them as much as we could for about 30 min until additional YSAR came with a stretcher and a Doc.

Right side of here face looked pretty bad, but looks like she'll live. On a side note, i gave my headlamp to one of the YSAR peeps, anyway I could recover that?

Any news on how this happened? The female who took the fall is now ok and was a very experienced and talented climber. Ground fall from the Nose sounds really odd.
