**There you go man. Keep as cool as you can.
Face piles of trials with smiles.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.
And keep on thinking free!!** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgvVFv2jiL0
Back in the day, before my grade school chum turned me onto Zeppelin, my older sisters had a couple of Moody Blues albums.
I was always into "hip" music, but they were the first band that got my brain way way out there and made me want to explore misty castles and enchanted forests!!

"burn slowly, the candle of life"
Grew up in the sixties with the Moodies.
Got their greatest hits on CD in my car, and on my Ipod.
Have seen them in concert four times.
I appreciate the hell of out them.

^^^What he said.(divad)
I listen to the Moody Blues, but not often enough. Recently, I've been listening to 'Long Distance Somethingorather' that my Pa gave me. On casett(sic, what are those things called?).
I grew up with the MB's and the Marshall Tucker Band and Neil Young. The Beatles, Dan Fogleburg, and Little Feat too.
I'll always appreciate the music my folks passed on to me. Seeing as how I was only alive for four months of the 70's.
Oh, Steve Winwood too. He was a big one.
Thread drift, sorry, just remembering days long ago.

Nights in White Satin made no sense to me, but some of their lyrics were very inspiring.

Great band. Saw them 2 years ago at the Del Mar Fair Grounds in San Diego County.
Definately one of the best prog rock bands: (YES, Pink Floyd, Rush, Moody Blues, ELP, Genesis etc.)

I liked some of their 80's stuff, but to me the 60's and 70's stuff was the most mind blowing.
Such accomplished musicians, such image provoking lyrics.
These guys deserve to be millionaires!

Anyone else here attend the slide show in the Tetons, 1970, in which a climbing ranger gave a beautifully understated performance? He used very little climbing material, the audience being mostly tourists, but background music was Moody Blues and a shot of a rappel came along just at, "out of the emptiness he comes from."
He also briefly mentioned what I think was the FFA of South Face of Moran with Kevin Bein, on which their bivouac menu consisted mostly of lemon drops, saying, "We drank a little water, blew some dope, and went to sleep."
I later heard he was fired for the drug reference, but that could be rumor.
