Any 'o' them Porter(?) bros is a-okay with me!

Though I have yet to actually encounter them in the field.

Jaybro,

Hopefully, that will be remedied in the future. Actually, I mispoke concerning Festus. He is not truly a non climber. He has turned in "stellar" performances on the East Face of Whitney, Mt. Sill, Symmetry Spire in the Tetons, and a number of lesser Joshua Tree and Mission Gorge routes BITD. Festus is an aerobic "machine" who routinely kicks my ass in back country approaches and in the Grand Canyon, and it pisses me off !!! Again............You Go Festus !!!!

I've known Festus for over 40 years and I can attest to his generosity, modesty, wit and wisdom. Please welcome me in celebration of this fine human being.

I too have known Festus for quite a long time. He has always exhibited an "anything for a laugh" attitude about life, an important and highly praised quality. He's a good dad, a good person and a good friend.

I wholeheartedly agree with both TH and Billy. Festus is a fine individual as are all the Porters.

Porter bros are gearing up for action. Full TR to follow our Royal Arch Grand Canyon trip followed by an ascent of Royal Arches in the Valley. By the way, that picture of the real Festus......if you take out the beard, exchange the cowboy hat for a yellow Ecrin Roc helmet, slap some "coke rim" glasses on, and shave his head bald accept for a small tuft of hair on top, you'd be looking at a dead ringer for "our" Festus !!! You Da Man Festy !!!

I'm a little choked up...because this likely means the end for me, since I'll be the first to agree that the following is just and should be immediately instituted:

Anyone who shows up in the title of an appreciation thread that doesn't get to 20 (twenty) legitimate posts should be immediately banned from the site. By legitimate I mean that relatives and/or good friends of long standing (real not virtual) don't count, except perhaps for the original post in the thread.

So, that puts my current total here at 4 (FOUR!), because I have a bit of pride and just can't accept serial devoid-of-content posters as being legit tallies for this purpose, nor in my particular case can I accept Gunsmoke photos.

To Jaybro, damn, I'm honored! Without you my total would be 2 (TWO!). And F10, who was really replying more to my brothers, his fellow Patrick Henry high alums, I'm honored nonetheless. And to the two of you, I have too much respect for you not to urge you to immediately delete your posts so as not to go down with this sinking ship. Your ST legacies deserve no less.
Thank you both.

And now, Mr. McNamara, please fetch the mallet and end this!

As a matter of principle I support anyone who

1. climbs
2. is unafraid to associate themselves with Enron
