The lunatic who put the wheels in motion to get the Americans from slumbering quietly into New Wave music (eeeekkkkk!!). Thank God and then.....God turned around and saved the bloody Queen!

I was there too, Great!!!! Also love the opening bands. My buddy would have had some great photos but he was using old film at the time. "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated"

mooch,

many thanks for the ascii amphetamine on an otherwise rainy boring sunday. ("Everyday Is Like Sunday...")

(though, just between us grrls, referring to the Sex Pistols as “New Wave music” -- BITD -- would quick get the sh!te stomped out of you (and in some quarters still will).

when my parents found my first Sex Pistol album (i was 15) -- they made me go talk to Father Bob. lucky to survive that 'intact' -- yikes!

as The Cramps used to sing “You ain’t no punk, you punk!..."

(}
Sid Vicious looks like i did after my first off-off-width. sheesh...

Good call Pip. The Pistols were about as far from New Wave as you could get. Didn't notice that reference the first time through.

in fairness to mooch, i misread his post.

obviously _not_ suggesting the Sex Pistols were even remotely 'New Wave'.

so mooch gets to stomp me to death.

God I am so old I remember that poster- kinda like that one with the cowboy boots. I remember that style well, One time I saw Black Flag at the Fab Mab their whole entourage had that style going on ripped jeans, steel toed boots and bandannas ahh the wild old old days.
Now I am taking pictures of my Bonsai- still in training pots

Pip got it right. No stomping needed. However, Werner could use a good bake bean bath! (refer to 'Sid and Nancy' flick for graphic image effect ;) "He don't know me too good, do he?"

Sex Pistols = rancid punk
Thompson Twins = new wave

Does that help the "not-so-brain worthy"?

Hey Tiki-Ger.....the Misses and I dig on some good ol' darkwave, ethereal and a bit of neo folk. Examples: Lycia, Death in June, Switchblade Symphony, Nurse With Wound, Psychic TV, Tara Vanflower, Mike Vanportfleet, Black Tape For A Blue Girl, Current 93 and a few others.
