I sent some shoes out for resoling this week. Every time I send out shoes for resoles, I remember Jules.
About a year after Jules passed I was hiking in Glacier NP, Montana. On the ride back to camp I stopped in a port-o-potty at one of the pullouts. A JT Resoles sticker was pasted to the wall. Brought tears, that did.
No disrespect to those here who do resoles and the new owner of the company name. Jules was an excellent resoler and a nice lady.
I miss the Jolly Rancher she always tucked into the shoes when she was finished.
RIP Jules

Jules was a true sweetheart of a person. Her departure from the stage left the theatre a dimmer place.
RIP Jules George.

She was a great climber, as well. Lead me up several routes at JT. I enjoyed her company. I have been away from climbing for 10 years but I mentioned Jules' name at Nomad Ventures in JT last month and the gal working there said, "you used to climb with Jules, yes, and too bad about how everything went" or something like that. I didn't know what she meant and had this feeling I didn't want to find out. Now I understand... very sad to hear she's gone.

I knew Jules a bit-- not well, but to say hi to in the parking lot and we chatted on occasion.
After I left JTree, things got very hectic and I was out of the loop for several years--
I had no idea she'd died. I assumed she'd moved on to a different climbing town--
Man . . . .

My only contacts with Jules were emails that started about resoles and ended up about jtree climbing. Even through those brief emails I got a sense that she would be a great person to meet and she always seemed so positive and smiling even without ever seeing her.

Sam - those pictures really hit me... but I still thank you for posting them.
I did not know Jules well, but I saw her and chatted frequently. Even did a few climbs. She was very special, and when I heard about her death I was upset in a way which seemed to be out of proportion to my casual knowledge of her. I think she touched many people in a similar way.
Is there anyone reading this who could actually keep up with her on a bicycle??

I met Jules up at white mtn shortly after I came to SD and we hung out a bit. She was a unique combination of enigmatic and charismatic. I miss her too.
