Have you hit some of the areas in the south east on your slide show tours?
You should book a show or two in western NC this spring (Asheville and Boone) and hit Rumbling Bald near Asheville and the high country areas (Grandmother, Lost Cove, etc...) near Boone.
There is a thriving traditional climbing based community in both towns and I'm sure that the kids there would love your show!

...see if you can get a tour of the Rosendale Water Works when you come up to the Gunks to do a slide show, John! It's not "open" yet but maybe the Gunks Climber Coalition could use you and do some sort of a fund raiser with it. You could battle the locals, send all their stuff onsite and leave some new ones - hahahah.

When are you coming to the states Mr. Cilley?

Y'all come on out and have some fun!

There has been some stuff recently published, along with some newly developed/in development stuff...

Over near Missoula is Lost Horse and Lolo...

Lolo (ripped from the web)

You have probably seen the some of the Boulder Batholith threads(near Butte, MT)...lots of new problems out there...

http://boulderbatholith.blogspot.com/

There is also Whiskey Gulch, which is the published stuff in the boulder batholith...
(full digital guide)
http://whiskeygulch.50webs.com/home.htm

Yankee Jim has seen recent development as well, which is just a bit north of Yellowstone

http://www.spireclimbingcenter.com/main/documents/yankeejimbouldering.pdf

there's a second older guide for the campground boulders too...

Its not exactly a new area, but if you haven't been to Palm Springs Tram in the last 3 or 4 years, theres about 1000 new problems.

Yeah, RTM---

Got a few minutes away from the groms, eh? Nice to see you post here.

There's actually more bouldering action on this site than WCB seems to get, although you have to wade through a lot of crap to get it.

I will probably get hung for mentioning this, but anyone ever hear of Banks Lake in Washington? It is a granite outpost in a sea of basalt. Tons and tons of bouldering ops, and many of them deep water solo options as granite cliffs rising right out of Banks Lake which is a lake created by the Grand Coulee Dam in the middle of eatern Washington. There are some developed crags there also, fabulous stuff, sporty and trad. I just got turned onto the place this last summer on a waterski trip there. Well worth a visit on any climbers list, and if you have a boat or kayak, the possibilities are endless. Jonesing to go back, sunny and warm much of the year.

So many rocks, so little time....

Drove back all night from SLC so I was up way too late.

I want to go back to the SE and hit the boulders - that sandstone is just too good. Hoping to do some slide shows and combine it with raising funds for local causes. Same with the NE....

Palm Srings Tram! That's right haven't even hit that yet....damn.

Better get bizzyy, jb

Anyone ever been to Bighorn Crags? It's in a remote area of Idaho. I was there a couple years back and the bouldering potential is large. Very nice setting too.

That's the place. I was there in August and I didn't see a lot of people. It was remote, but the fishing was good and the granite was everywhere. Some of it was bad but a lot of it was good. Not a single sign of climbing activity. Some people have climbed there but I didn't see anybody. I did see a lot of grouse and almost took one out with rock for dinner.

From the Agnew Meadows trailhead go north for about a half mile to where the trail descends to the river , from there you can see a rockfall area on the other side of the valley . There's a huge trapezoid shaped boulder , overhaging on all four sides with incut edges / jugs typical of that Ritter type rock (diorite ?) but solid . I 've gone out there a couple times just filming and taking pictures , but never had time to seriously climb on the thing . (the pics were no good and got tossed) The west face is a 90 degree jug-fest with a lip about midway . Bring a broom to clean the big ledges , and some brushes - cuz nothing has been climbed here and it's pretty dirty . The north face is slightly overhanging with small holds . A nice vibe too with aspens , and close to the river . I'm gonna try to have a full-on session out there this summer . I hope there's a walk-off .

This place used to be right down the street from me in Exeter. It has had a cover shot in Climbing some years ago and made several other publications such as numerous Patagonia catalogs and the only bouldering article in Alpinist. You'd never know it by driving by and the No Tresspassing signs are still all over the place as they have always been. Since I lived close I was lucky enough to have many bouldering types come through and stay at my house. Some famous. I'd love to go back up there today but its been really No Tresspassing now and I sure wish it wasn't!

John,

When the snow melts head for the Whites. Drive up Silver Cyn. hang a left at the top. Then head East down Crooked Creek. You will know when you arrive.

Another obscure place that has some great bouldering is just off hwy 14 at the Burro Schmidt Tunnel Rd just North of Red Rock Cyn. Take the Burro Schmidt Rd. about a mile or two until you see some rocks off to your left or the North side of the road. There is a perfect 4 sided block about 15' high sitting in the middle of the desert.

May as well be a new area, nobody ever on the crack behind Pyramid Rock. Castle Rock today, no climbers, still rain, sandstone drainin.

Supposedly, Ron Kauk worked this thing over when he was startin out.
And he was just out at the park a couple of months ago looking at this and some stuff over by Goat Rock.

GPS Required down in the Thickets, looking for the Green Monster again.
This was my third failure in a row.
Frickin may as well be in Nam, Jungle Stud country, people with AK's and night vision sheesh, plants everywhere, I'm out.

This area is on Brown Mountain near Courtright. The area has many clean splitter bouldering cracks, many of which have nice landings. It's kinda of a walk and I was wondering if I could get some people to stash pads and maybe even a trailer out there.

Well it's pretty endless around here if u like scrubbing.

The hydro company just did me a favour this morning & cleared a bunch of Alder, Blackberries & a few cedar snags that were all over & around this dusty bastard for me.

At first i was pissed because their chainsaws woke me up @ 7am but when i got up to see what the ruckus was about i was pleasantly surprised!!
