So this junkie jazz musician is reduced to getting a job in Welk's band. Welk agress to hire him and the musician says "There is one problem, I have this monkey on my back"
Welk says "That's OK we love animals"

Oh, for f*#k sake! I can handle the politics. I can handle the whiny drivel about "my girlfriend left me, what should I do?" and even "What pants/hat/jacket/thong should I buy".... But f*#king Lawrence Welk?!?!?!?! Time to get outside, Gary! hahaha

Lawrence Welk ruined my childhood.

It used to run on TV Sunday night at the exact same time as The Wonderful World of Disney.

Needless to say I very seldom got to watch Disney.

My Grandfather was a "somebody" in North Dakota (kind of an odd concept I agree) and was good friends with Lawrence Welk.

I didn't see much Disney either...

When I first moved to California I was blasting out the 10 to Joshua Tree Nat Monument in my Porsche when I passed a gold Rolls Royce. License plate: A1NA2NA.

I alomost drove off the road.

Hey wait a second....there is a bouldering area near where I live and it's called Lawernce Welk, near the same named resort. Killer bouldering on solid granite. So maybe the whole Welk thing IS good. Hated the show, but I'm damn near the age all them people on it were, dancing to hideous music, dressed in hellish clothes, looking like near death.

"A1NA2NA" Don't get it Kris.... LW was before my time. What's the significance of the license plate?

"and a one and a two and a...."

Once I remember him introducing a song which he always read from cue cards where he said: "Here is an all time favorite from world war I (I pronounced "I" not "one")"

Funny sh*t.

The next clip is wrong for so many reasons. The last person I saw with clothes that shade of green was Ottawa Doug's pants on Tribal Rite. I think Wiggy inherited those threads for his TR solo.

It's now a climbing related thread.

Proceed.

Hideous green can be such a wonderful thing in a climbing situation. Hi Gene. :)

Bobby and Cissy make me gag. But I always did like Jo Ann Castle.
