Went to lover's leap yesterday. Bad news is that still too much snow to climb "comfortably" on the big cliffs.

The south side ofthe hogs back is perfect and free of snow.

and the boulders are in perfect condition. the snow at the base makes a lot of the high balls much less intimidating.

Here is a photo of me working (Mark Nicholas spotting) a new project on the approach to the East Wall. photo by clair nicholas

oh, and went further down the canyon. felt like the temperature was 65 near phantom spires. so i am sure that will be in great condition this weekend. sugarloaf is also probably perfect

"Mr. McTaggart, report to the manager's office please. We regret to inform you that your services will no longer be needed with this company. Your lack of dedication is quite evident. Pick up your final check at Ms. Buxley's desk. Hope you enjoy climbing more often now."

i hit up sugarloaf today. really warm... gusty winds kept the temps nice.

the fire didn't affect the trail at all. or if it did, the trail is now in great shape again.

with the trees burned, there is now a lot more sun on the east wall.

here are some pics that madelyn nicholas took:
