All my gear seems to be held together with the waxy thread; My camera bags, backpacks, haul bag, sleeping bag, rope bag, wall harness (non essential parts) fishing vest, net, shoes, car upholstery, hat... I just don't know what I'd do without it. Amerrycan made too!

It's a great tool! Much better than that
little gizmo that tried to replace pocket knives.

While I love the Speedy Stitcher, I won't tolerate this slander of the mighty Leatherman!!

Sorry, didn't mean to slander it.
I just never found a good use for it.
It sits unused, in the back of my gear closet.
My pocket knife goes with me wherever I go, except airports
and security buildings. . . :-)

all hail a true hero of a sewing tool -
this
and the other uber-utilitarian items we all know,
love
and (sometimes) won't leave home w/ out including;
duct tape
and (maybe)
bailing wire
what else?
I know there's others...

After my (older style, rigid) Petzl gear loops bugged me for the last time, I chopped 'em right off. Relatively quick and easy replacement with some older BD gear loops scarfed from a wicked old harness. And now I'm that guy with the funky lord-knows harness.

Yeah, Stich is a great partner, wonderful human and one of the best friends a person could ask for. I have no knowledge on how speedy he is tho and I would never call him a tool. That's not very nice. :-)

My wife is amazed that the first thing I do after buying almost any piece of gear is pull out the scissors and the speedy stitcher to "fix" it. Why doesn't anyone make good gear (i.e., gear designed exactly the way I want with only the things I want and nothing else)?!? All hail the speedy stitcher.

Other utilitarian:
Chapstick.
Lubricant- mechanical stuff
Sealant- o rings, tubing
Anti-seize - threads, fittings
Corrosion resistance
Anti- friction - drawer slides
Adhesive- temporary stickum
First aid- wound dressing, burn ointment
Sunscreen/windburn protection
Rash prevention
Don't leave home without it!
I do most sewing on my ancestral treadle machine, so the speedy stitcher gets little use. Still great though.

Got 8 resoles out of a pair of Galibier (sp) Terrays, (Old school Trangos)
Did them all myself with a speedy stitcher. Most while in a lawn chair at horse shows on Sunday mornings.

Best thing about 'speedy' is you can pull him out at the base & make it work....or enroute.
