I've only apologized once and I got it all out of the way at one time. I highly recommend it:

I am sorry that her friend heard that her "kippered snax" smelled like cat food.

It could have been so much funnier.

After the email from Vogel,
I need to apologize too,
seems my statement made him feel like can't say, means you better say it right, or i will sue.
it seems he never chopped a bolt,
in Joshua Tree.

so I was wrong to say
that can't say
chopped a bolt in JT

why does a retraction sound more like a tooth removal than an apology?
