First, a comment... For those who say there are no new routes left to be done. I agree. Now go home.

Who can tell me the names of the TWO most obvious formations on the left side of this pic?

Damn! Are you lurking over my shoulder? You nailed it Rincon.

It is formations such as these that keep me in awe and drag my sorry ass into the mountains time and again. Let everyone else stay in the gym... I got mine.

Want a card? Of course you do! You earned it!

CRS and the Fin are awesome!!!! What climber who has climbed in SeKi, Moro in particular, hasn't looked over and dreamed of being on those formations? Even besides the 13 mile approach, the ticks and rattlesnakes...! It's all part of what makes it such a special place! =)

Clint,
You ruined it for me! Man. I got my first bad case (systemic) of P.O. on the approach to CRS. I was trying to forget!

Yep, after spending some time on Moro rock it's hard not to have those formations burned in your brain.

Those babies are on the tick list when I retire someday and can justify taking a week off. Or if I ever get bad-ass enough to pull that in a weekend (don't see it happening).

But if I take that much time, they might have to wait behind the Minarets traverse, the Palisades traverse, Charlotte Dome, Obelisk, Tehipite Dome, Angel Wings, etc.

Sorry, Clint! I do that in real life too - forget about the P.O., that is. I'm one of those lucky folks who can roll around in it, use it for hand-holds to pull myself up steep, slippery slopes, etc and never, ever gets so much as a rash. People hate me. I have to be extra conscious to try to remind myself to let others know when I see it, as I walk right through it and they follow. Then they're mad at me when they get it and I don't. hah!

Come on girls, what's a little 13 mile approach full of ticks with rattlers hiding under the poison oak?
Where is your sense of adventure?
Did you leave it at the gym?
He-he!

Nefarius,

I too was one of the immune, or so I thought...Until one CRS trip...All it took was a a little scratch...and it was literally crawling under my skin.

I was one of those who could just look at poison oak and get it.

Last year we were back in the bay area visiting my ailing father, and somehow I managed to get into poison oak. I know what it looks like, but never recalling seeing any in the few areas we hiked around. Worst of all I got it under my wedding band, and it got so bad I had to cut the band off.

I don't miss poison oak, or snakes, at all. So whats the occasional snowflake and sub zero day.

Angel Wings is PO free. Great reward for a little walk too. I helped put a route on that. That's been a while now....

"Pansies! The SE is 90% poison ivy spring-fall."

me thinks this translates to "why yes, I use round up on my approaches, don't you?"

Nutjob, tick list? That's not a play on words, is it? Or do you have a list of places where you want ticks to latch on to you? ;-)

Nefarius, next you will be telling us that you use PO as... 'toilet paper'. Damn, just the very thought of that makes my butt itch.
