I shot this during a YOSAR "event" in Feb 1989. Perhaps this is the Almighty who looks out for us on those silly stone walls?

For those of you wanting more "detail"...

Unretouched, as far as I know. This was a Christmas card from 1987, pre-Photoshop days. I've never seen it--the light probably has to be "just right"--though I vaguely recall hearing of "the face in Cloud's Rest" before getting this card.

That's great Werner! Some interesting stuff for a snowy day...

Mark, funny you should mention that--that was exactly what Elliot said in his card way back almost 20 years ago...(the "Bob" mentioned in the card is Bob Palais).

John

Next time if I get to fly back there in the chopper, I'm gonna ask the pilot if we can look for the "Chief" and take a photo.

This is really cool .......

John - You can't miss it from Escape from Freedom or Golden Dawn. Actually you can make it out from Google Earth.

I sat on a ledge above Mirror Lake all night in march of '76 waiting for SAR to pluck me off . I saw stars move and faces on Half Dome .

THAT IS Bear 46. He is in cahoots with Chief Tenaya to rid the area of us pesky humans, even though Tenaya was a human, but now a spirit.

The cynic in me says that the pic is altered but I trust those who say it isn't. Pretty amazing.
