Hell on earth wondering what I did to deserve it

I want to publicly thank Jennie for the SCHWEET prize that arrived in the mail last night. I now have in my possession, hanging on my 'buttered pecan' wall, the painting she created titled "Post Modern Crimpie". It really is awesome and it brought an enormous grin to my face.

I also want to add that there is much else to appreciate about her. Thanks for all of it!

* A prize is in the mail to you do - for your mother, for your family and for us here at the Taco. :)

I think it says something like "Cold beer supply" (why else would the ST sheep be following? - oh... yeah... um.... *that*).

Jennie was one of the four drop outs for SushiFest. I was disappointed to hear she was not going to make it. I also understand she won't be making it to the next sushifest. Maybe one of these, eh, Jennie?

She notified me with a bit more than a week to go that she wouldn't make the journey. By the guidelines I made for the funds for SF I offered her a full refund but she refused. In the end that did help out as I pretty much spent every last penny of the SF funds on food. In her (and the three other drop outs) honor $20 of her $60 is being donated to the Jasper Kelly college fund (http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.html?topic_id=377847);. On top of that she'll get a discount if she decides to attend a SushiFest.

Thanks again Jennie - you're a sweetheart. And that painting is really pretty and looks like it will fit nicely into Callies home.

Peace,
Doug

It is super cool isn't it? I really love it! I may hang it on my "simply elegant" wall when I get home to see how I like it there.

*still grinning!!!*

If is doesn't work on the "simply elegant" wall, what next?

The "drank the kool-aid wall"?

Oh TIG, in my home, there are many choice.

I could hang it on the "Eastern Bluebird" wall, or the "Arkansas Green" wall, or perhaps the "Red Currant" wall. And heck, I can always repaint a wall for the new painting if I like.

That is hilarious OUCH!

Yes, the donny beast resides on the Arkansas Green wall (striped now).

Fatty, the birds do have a color preference. The room they live in now was yellow - bright yellow (ugh) - when I bought the house. They screamed A LOT in it. I knew they like nice gray/blues so I quickly painted their room "Eastern Bluebird." Matches them very nicely. The color looks sort of cheesy in photos though.

I use the word prize as a synonym of treat or gift. I don't know exactly what I did to get it, but I'm very happy to have it. :)

A lovely painting.

"Little Bo Crimpie has lost her birdies,
And can't tell where to find them,
Leave them alone,
And they'll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them."

I'm lounging on my bed (working as usual - sigh) and the painting is in full view. I continued to be tickled and grinning!

Hi Jennie and Crimpie,

Great picture Jennie. Very sweet.

Callie, I could easily see why Jennie might paint that for you. You are kind, generous and capable and have a great spirit. A worthy subject.

John:

That's very sweet. You guys are the reason I like hanging out here. I wish we could all get together at one of the upcoming sushifests. We'll have to try and do that-
