I was just sitting here at work .. thinking about how many times i've been at the base of el cap.. or camp4 .. and said something like...

"Did you hear what they said on supertopo about...." ..

.. or course most of those conversations have ended up with laughs, chuckles, and what not..

.. i love supertopo...

It works for me! Thanks.

"Don't go changin', to try and please me...."

The pages thing wasn't as bad as anticipated; it's only a minor irritent each and every time I click on a thread > 20 posts.

The thing I have liked the most about Supertopo has been reading the real-time writings from some of those who have been such a part of the history in American climbing.

Thanks guys, for being here, and thanks Chris, for making here here!

I have to admit that I was very reluctant to join ST and start contributing. I was infrequently lurking as a Guest for a couple of years. But over the last year, I changed my mind. This is a cool forum and I kind of like its chaotic and (mostly) unmoderated format. Not to mention that there is no other forum on the Internet (as far as I know) where one could so easily interact with his or her climbing heroes, as peers no less.

Kudos to ST, Chris and everybody here who makes it a fun place to "hang out"!

I agree with the posts above. I lurked, like Misha, for a long time too.
To me, it's like getting encouragement from below on a burly move.
Now, gotta get the net at work!
Thanks, Chris.
Now, where is that pic of the car belay?

I have met lots of people in Yos that I found out I knew allready from Supertaco. The community is smaller then we think. I had to wonder if I would have met them if it hadn't been for the SuperTaco stand???

It actually works as a vehicle to find a climbing partner.

Let's see. Through ST I've communicated with people I haven't seen in decades, like Leroy, JohnVawter, and mooser; got together with some folks I hadn't seen in decades, like RickA and Tarbuster; did a great route on the Black Wall at Mt. Evans with a guy I met here (Rhodo-Router); will be doing a route next weekend in the Black Canyon with a guy I met here, who's also a legend (LCoyne); got to communicate a bit with the great Largo, got to hear some stories from a fellow offwidth afficianado and master, Jaybro, and got to tell some of my regular guy climbing stories to boot. And then there are all of those great stories about Yosemite in the 1970's...
I'm grateful to Chris for all of this.

Supertopo is great the way it is. Including the downright obnoxious folks and the variety of topics - climbing and non-climbing.

Leave it be! Don't break it! I appreciate it the way it is!

supertopo has been the best method of communicating with other climbers that I have experienced so far. So oftern I run into those "wanna be" dirt bags in town that talk a big game but once you get them down to specifics they don't know jack.

Thanks for being my release.
