well let's see if I can paint the picture for y'all...
A good ol' boy parked his car along the road right near the crag so he could take his sweetie climbing and try to get some sugar. He thought it'd be a quickie and they'd be back directly, but by and by he got talkin' while waitin in line for a route then sat down to eat a mess of food. "Crash!! Boom!! Bang!!" "Good Lord! That big rock over yonder just rolled down the hill toward my car!" Sure enough, the car was flat as a pancake, with the turnsignal on. The boy stood cryin, bless his heart. When the deputy came round and told him it were an act of God he threw the biggest hissie fit y'all ever seen. That night his girl made fried green tomatoes and pecan pie. He sat on the front porch sippin' southern comfort, starin' at the empty driveway.
Ya'll might not wanna park there no more.

Large boulder destroys car
JEFFERSON COUNTY - It was a bulls-eye that only nature could execute.
A four ton piece of rock came off the canyon wall in Golden and fell directly on a car parked along the shoulder of Highway 6. The Toyota Camry was no match for the massive boulder.
The car was so smashed that some people passing by didn't even see it at first. Only the left front tire and the front bumper were recognizable. Sharon Knox said, "I hope that they weren't in that car. That rock looks like a boat."
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Robert Riley has been patrolling this stretch of the canyon for well over a decade. He says he's never seen such a big rock fall. He said, "By the size of that boulder you probably wouldn't have survived it, if you were in the car."
There was so much damage to the car that initially, no one could tell if someone was inside it.
When Thomas Heczko and his friend Thomas Hascak showed up, the answer came.
It was Heczko's car.
He had parked it on the shoulder of the road while he and his friend went rock climbing.
He said, "I parked it right there! Why couldn't it have happened three feet over? Put yourself in my situation, how would you react if you parked your car right there in that spot? It's not that big. It just hit my car like it was meant to happen. Karma got me, I don't know."
Thomas Hascak said, "Thank God that we weren't inside. That is the bright side of it, I guess."
Both directions of US Highway 6 at MM 206 were closed most of Saturday but re-opened just after 5 p.m.
