Yeah, I will even add some more shots of that scene. It is Bachar, btw. and perhaps a young Yabo. Give me a moment, I just got this scanner, and that is why I am heaping all this historical stuff on ST. There are really a lot of these images I have been carrying around in bags and boxes for 30-45 years. Glad most are enjoying it, as these were amazing, pivotal years for not only the thousands of us climbing there every year, but for all of rockclimbing worldwide, as we all know, considering what happened after 1974 or so and who made it happen.

The blond guy is not Bachar and not Faulkinstien. I don't ever recall John playing football.

Kathy Chris never played football with us either.

"And what's with everyone wearing the trendy striped sneakers"

Klaus, if I'm not mistaken those are Adidas Countrys (the white ones with 3 green stripes), and they were THE shoe for climbing and what not back then. At least if you wanted to be cool. Some guys, like KP, got em resoled in Green Dot rubber.

Yeah, one day there was some guy driving through the Camp 4 lot and he gave everyone a brand new pair of Adidas. I think his name was santa klaus.

One time we took the football game over to the Yosemite school field.

Let's see; we started playing touch football. It ended up tackle later in the game.

Billy Westbay = broken arm

Mark Chapman lost some teeth or something like that.

Me dislocated knee, hahaha.

A lot of beat up guys.

Nobody plays anymore, they're all light weight climbers now. All they talk about and care about is some stupid ratings and dumb ass bolts.

Yeah...I posted the ranger thing - but to be honest, being a long-hair ne'er-do-well in the 70's myself, my first thought was that the "Candy Man" had just driven up!

Hey, Werner... Remember one of those pickup baseball/softball games at the Village school field that came to an abrupt (and mutually-agreeable) end, round about the sixth inning when a bear decided to amble across center field and second plate?

We all agreed with the bear that the game was over. (And, besides, we had enough wine in the dugout to keep us entertained...)

So for those of you who are wondering who the "Bachar" blond character is, check this out, taken around the same time, when Bridwell, John and I spent a sunny afternoon at the base of Short Circuit doing laps on it, John eventually doing it unroped.
