BE INFORMED, THINK FOR YOURSELF, PAY AS YOU GO AND SHARE WHAT YOU HAVE. DISREGARD THE TOTAL TRAVESTY OF POLITICS AND RELIGION, SMILE AT PEOPLE AND VOTE NO.

I think we need a party that is fiscally conservative (but not overly) but socially liberal. Get the religious nuts out of politics!

How can you be fiscally conservative and socially liberal when you'd need to spend and spend for the social programs you'd need?

Woody. To me, spending always falls under the fiscal category -the social category covers abortion rights, clear separation of church and state, gay rights, etc.
I believe that it's human nature to not work hard if your government just gives you money. That being said, some sort of social safety net will always be needed.

I doubt I am truly a fiscal conservative, whatever that is, but clearly Bush isn't one either. I'm pro-fiscal responsibility, meaning, the government tries to pay its bills with the resources the taxpayers contribute.

Why not deny Christians the right to vote? They're white, so who give a rat's ass about them?
Give their vote to illegals who will vote for more welfare, and hence the whole "progressive" package. That would solve all your problems.
I'm not kidding. I've worked long and hard on this question.

As opposed to 1/2 trillion dollars to set the Iranians up in Iraq. No doubt it would have been totally wasted on social programs here in the US like schools, public health, domestic security - right...

Maybe Mountain Man meant Christian Identity. I'd guess that almost all Christian Identity members are white.

The WPA, FHA and GI Bill were certainly not "money wasted" tax and spend social programs. They paid for themselves a thousand times over by creating an educated middle class who spent thousands more or consumer goods and produced producers, sometimes even scientists and engineers. It's not about spending money, it's about how you spend it and whom you spend it on. It always gets me when some WWII white daddy complains about social welfare for negros, Mexicans and poor white trash when Tojo, Hitler and FDR handed him everything he thinks he got with hard work, individual initiative and free will. Who's he trying to BS?

Kath A friend of mine (female) put one of those on her big truck.
She said a lot of guys got tweaked.
Then she got injured and her boyfriend who had to drive her
around couldn't handle it and took it off.
She should have paid more attention to that warning sign and
dumped him then.

How can you be fiscally conservative and socially liberal when you'd need to spend and spend for the social programs you'd need?
the irony of that statement is stagering, to say the least.
if the measure of being "fiscally conservative" is the current "conservative" administration, the "left" would easily be to the "right" of the so-called right.
ya'll who vote righty and respond righty to all these discussions are as blind as they hope you are, the only fiscally conservative thing these chumps have ever done is to give themselves and their very very rich neighbors and business partners huge tax breaks, all of which the middle and upper middle classes pay for, and the card-trick they use to pull it off is to convince white people, with a wink and a nod, that "entitlement programs" are a plot by lazy minorities to bleed the treasury dry.
never mind that the wealthy are getting vastly wealthier while the middle class' earnings are more or less stagnant.
...just as long as ya'll are not funding some immigrant kid's education (never mind if immigrants are facilitating the economy that you depend on).
