Occasionally good stuff happens over at c com and knob com:

Apparently, Mal has won a Golden Piton in the Humanitarian category.

Congrats on the new bling for Mal. And just in time-- with the economy crashing you now has something of real value you can use to barter for food.

Way to go Mal, but not recognizing Alex Honnold for his spectacular climbs in 2008(not in the Humanitarian category) makes me wonder.

Bruce

edit- so I can't read. I guess Honnold did get a mention. Props to all!

Thanks kids,
It's a humbling thing to get one of these awards. I never would have thunk it. It's good to know that you can get honored for doing good things. I've been spending most of my time running Paradox Sports, a non-profit started by Timmy O'Neill and army Captain DJ Skelton, to improved the lives of people with disabilities through climbing and other outdoor sports. Check out what's going on at www.paradoxsports.org.

Thanks again,
Mal

Nifty,

So when is it going to get updated to the Golden Cam award? I guess you'd also need a Golden Hanger, and Golden Pad to cover the other lesser aspects of the sport too.

Certainly a FAR more deserving recipient than the first.

Good on ya Mal.
One of my good friends calls Mal a pinko, but I don't have to agree with everything to respect and like somebody.

I owe you a dinner buddy.

Mal is the man! Good on ya bro.

Is it within the parameters of not-bad taste humor to suggest a sawed-off golden piton?

(that'll keep this thread bumped anyway)

Congats!
