GOT 'EM!

This is almost insane. Allie sent over what appears to be the complete works of Ouch! and then some. thousands of comics and pictures to sort through. 1.3G compressed. yikes.

so question for you graphic folks. In the various folders there is often a file called thumbs.db. On my mac it gives it the shell script icon and nothing will open it. Anyone know what this might be for? what application opens it?

Doug -

Thumbs.db is a little gift from Windows XP that basically acts as a "mini-folder" that contains info about how the user chose to view the pics in the main folder.

In other words - Windows Pic View gives you the option to display jpegs, gifs, whatever as a written list or thumbnails or slideshow - you get the idea.

Anyway, once the host user decided which option they preferred for viewing - the thumb.db file is generated to store those options. Microsoft says this makes the file load quicker when you next access the folder.

In even simpler terms - you can ignore the figgin thing!

cool. thanks for that.

this is a daunting task. little bits at a time. I think it all might be here. And I have to wonder if there are pieces of unpublished work.

"God didn't make little green boogers and it don't rain in pizmo beach in the winter time"

LOL!!

Has anyone ever noticed that his animated gifs were always a little choppy? I'm wondering if there is a way to fix that. Any animated gif experts want a job?

Nature,

I suggest leaving the claymation feel to them.

Anything else wouldn't be ridge-null Ouch.

my 2 cents.

Nature...Its me! Allie!

I found them! The originals! On his laptop! Tons that I did not see on the ones I sent you...not sure if I should apologize or be as excited as I am! haha! There are also dupes of some you already have but they are all here I'm sure! This laptop is slower than the desktop though and taking an hour to download skype. Think I will just save them to a key drive and send them to you tomorrow like I did today from work. Will make them smaller zip folders if I can though. woo hoo! I will be on skype as soon as I can...

I am so goofy and I walked out of my office and forgot my laptop. I am using his so everything I do is taking forever...

I'm soooo happy I found them!

Allie - that's great news. How big is this new folder you found? I had mentioned to Nature
the idea of using a USB drive to copy the stuff to and mail if the Skype transfer didn't work.
A friend just bought a 4 GB drive at Radio Shack for $14.95.

Nature - Ouch's animations are simply separate drawings, each drawing on a separate layer.
More drawings would have to be added (frames per second) to make them smooth,
which is obviously knott possible. And in any case the file-sizes would be enormous.
The duration of each layer can be manipulated to within a tenth of a second, so they
could be sped up or slowed down. However, I think these creations should be left in
all of their original glory. In other words, do knott mess with the work of the master!

i know what ya'll are saying. the thing is i have viewed many of the animations and i've watched more white space than i did actual animation. I hate to assume but I doubt it was ever his intent to have choppy animations. Some are so bad they are not worth viewing.
