climbers like to wear lots of gear when they do their climbs so why not add a parachute to that list? bear with me:

a parachute would really come in handy should you fall. obviously if you're just cragging for the day at little one pitch spots you probably wouldn't have any time or be high up enough to deploy your chute should you fall. the parachute i'm talking about comes in handy when you start climbing the bigger walls. if the japanese had chutes up on el cap they could have bailed when that storm came in. the guy who fell to his death on tangerine trip might have had time to deploy a chute when he fell this summer. so even though this post sounds kinda joke-y i really do feel a chute could help some people in certain situations.

of course there are all kinds of ethical climbing issues involved when you wear a chute on a route. and of course you would have to have basic knowledge of how a chute works and how to control it. and also you would have to be on a route where you had a clean fall for a few hunndred feet but there are plenty of routes with clean falls.

so what are the pro's and con's of wearing a chute while climbing?

that's not funny. If those Jappanes had jumped from Camp 6 they would have landed on Camp 5. You shouldn't joke about their deaths.

I can't figure out if you are trolling with this statement, or this is a photo of you as you were dreaming this whole parachute idea

I think we should all wear jet boots. That would really save lives!
