Was wondering if anyone here has done one or some of the free climbs up there in the Winds on Mt. Hooker. If so I would love to hear a bit about it.(them)
Thanks!

Maybe some more pics of a failed attempt at aid climbing it in 1984 will prompt someone to write up about their success...
This is the first pitch, went free at 5.10+, of the Boisseneult-Larson (sp?). A great steep hand crack through a roof. I dont think that route has been free-ed, but I bet the first several pitches would go free, assuming certain parts dried out.
Top of the second pitch. It rained on us 7 out of 9 days so progress was a bit slow.
Very Beautiful Wall, the route we tried started up the triangular roof, just left of the toe of the "nose" of the buttress.
Here was a bivvy at our high point, and the only time that we saw sun.
Big frickin packs...
Interestingly Euroford, Dockery attempted it in Winter, which is probably one of the truly great adventures (read SUFFERFEST) awaiting a winter big wall team in the lower 48. I dont remember all the details but I think it took them 7 days to approach the wall and he and his partner ran out of food on the way out. A cool thing about this wall is the lack of info (that successful climbers have kept to themselves) keeping the adventure level relatively high.

Thanks for reposting those photos gary, jeez that thing just pulls at my heartstrings. i keep a topo posted on the fridge door and look at it every day.
i got a couple of friends who have told some pretty darn good campfire stories about their winter attempts.
i do very much like that you can find enough info to make it sounds possable, but not nearly enough to sanitize it.
