Hi everyone!
I visited yosemite for the first time last autumn. I can´t stop thinking about going back, i´ve been training, working on improving my trad game + efficency for big walls :)
I was there late september early october and not to my surprise it was very crowded. I´m now thinking when i should plan my next trip, i´m guessing it doesn´t really matter in terms of crowd if i´m there in spring or autumn. But what do you climbers who spent much time in the valley think would you reccommend spring or autumn? For me, may-mid june would work in terms of work and also mid august-november.

spring can have unpredictable weather which might prevent climbing
fall generally has stable weather
local climbers have no problem dealing with spring weather uncertainties.
June will likely be very crowded.
late May through the start of September is the "high season," you can climb, but generally very crowded with tourists.
the seasonal climbing themes are to climb "down canyon" in the cold months and migrate up as the weather warms, which includes summers in Tuolumne Meadows.

September 15th to November 15th I'd say. Some of the best climbing occurs in November if the weather hold off. October, though, is usually absolutely perfect. Swimming weather in the sun and climbing weather in the shade with near perfect rock temperatures for friction. Because of the unpredictable weather in the spring, fall is definitely your best bet for a perfect hang.

In Spring the days are longer and the waterfalls are going. I like them both about the same.
