Sorry that I rarely visit. Kinda hard to think climbing while living on an island off of Texas plus I’m a boring gal these days. Just a quick update... Still happily married... Who was it that said it won’t last three months? :) Kids are great and yes, my house that is near Thomas Aqainus is still standing. In fact the college is still standing too. Sadly a few of my friends’ homes in Ventura are not. Plus now the freakin mudslides... My heart goes out to you all effected.

As for us, even Harvey that passed through here didn’t get us despite Bill being stuck at the hospital in Houston while I drove out to Georgia with the kids, dog and whatever I could stuff in the car.

Knock on wood.

What has happened is kids are growing. Leo is freakin fearless. Aris is the charmer. Loki dog is now getting old and sleeps most of the time. Bill is doing great and I... I dream of climbing. I did head out to Cali without the kids to help recovery after the fire. I brought my climbing gear but instead I worked the whole time. (Husband and kids were in Texas.) I sort of blew that chance.

I’ll just keep waiting for my rope guns to get old enough... I do miss you all. Plus the smell of rock and chalk too. :) Sending Love, Anastasia

I will Cosmic. He is stuck in Surgery most of the time so when I do see him I definitely will. The hospital is the true wife and I’m the mistress he sneaks off to.

Great to hear from you Anastasia! Thanks for the update!

Funny- your name came up climbing at the Owens gorge last week- someone mistook me for you (weird...second time that has happened BTW) LOL.

Hugs. Glad you and the family are well.

Enjoy the different seasons of life, and have faith that you will find your way back to climbing when it fits with other things you love in life.

I really miss climbing in Yosemite, being inspired by the magical combination of size and accessibility and mild weather, running into a familiar cast of characters and forming new friendships over time while chatting on the side of the road or at the base of different cliffs. I moved away at the end of 2012 and only had a couple of adventures there in the following years.

Just a couple of days ago I had a great day of sunny winter climbing in the lower valley, a mellow day summitting Pat and Jack Pinnacles. It was almost a 10 year anniversary of when I met le_bruce and started racking up a bunch of awesome weekend adventure memories. So as long as you keep the stoke in your heart, you can find your way back to it when the time is right. As I type this, I'm smiling looking at the little scabs on the back of my hands that might look like I had a bar fight, but to a climber proudly announce a good weekend.

Root,
Nothing to climb here. Flatter than a table top.

I Do MISS Montana!!!!!!! I’ll return when Bill can get away. So far he is stuck here. I deeply miss Rachel too!!!!

Yes, I can’t wait to be nuts again. I’m so scared I’ll get use to not going out that when I will actually have the free time I be rusted into place. I hope someone has som WD40 waiting for me.
