I'm curious if anyone recognizes the origin or manufacturer of this old horizontal piton. It appears that it might be hand-forged. Given the route it was on, it could have been placed in the late 50's or early 60's.
There is the hint of a name stamp on one side near the eye, but it was struck at an angle and is illegible.

Wow. Grover may have nailed it (no pun intended) in under five minutes!

Longware piton searches turned this up:

Too bad the pic is so small. The angle of the unreadable partial name-stamp even matches the one from the Ebay ad.
